The NC State Wolfpack has 11 conference championships. They have never won a national championship. Yet, Wolfpack fans continue to have an overinflated sense of what the program should be, compared to its history. Especially when you consider that the last NC State conference championship was in 1979. The only season the Wolfpack finished ranked top-10 was in 1974 under Lou Holtz.
