NC State Wolfpack College Football Betting
The Maryland Terrapins continue to be a work in progress and an unfulfilled promise. Coach Mike Locksley is well connected locally to what is known as the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia). Locksley will lead the Terps to their second consecutive bowl game in his fourth season on the job. But there is also frustration in that Maryland continues to come up empty against the best teams in the Big Ten. Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014 after building its brand in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Terps will face an old ACC rival, the NC State Wolfpack, in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

NC State Wolfpack Weekly Matchup
On Friday, December 30, 2022, the Maryland Terrapins of the Big Ten Conference will face the NC State Wolfpack of the Atlantic Coast Conference in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff time is noon ET, with television coverage on ESPN.
NC State will draw slightly more betting action based on their status as a perennial bowl team. Maryland’s poor defense and inconsistent play are a concern of Wise Guys.

The Terrapins held Rutgers to seven first downs and posted their first shutout over a conference opponent since joining the Big Ten. Jeshaun Jones had nine catches for 152 yards and a touchdown for Maryland, which snapped a three-game losing streak and completed its first seven-win regular season since 2014.
NC State Wolfpack Weekly Recap

NC State has a record of 8-4 straight up, 4-8 against the spread, and 6-6 over/under the total. NC State ranks 103rd for total offense, 76th for passing, 109th for rushing and 84th for scoring. Defensively they rank 21st overall, 66th against the pass, 11th against the rush, and 16th for points allowed. Also, NC State ranks 86th for fewest turnovers lost and 7th for takeaways.
Ben Finley threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start, and NC State beat Drake Maye and North Carolina when Noah Burnette kicked a 35-yard field goal try in the second overtime.
The NC State Wolfpack expected to contend for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship. But when quarterback Devin Leary was lost for the season, it was feared that NC State would suffer a lost season. Instead, head coach Dave Doeren rallied his team and improvised with true freshman quarterback MJ Morris. NC State will go bowling again under Doeren, but the Wolfpack was nowhere near where they hoped or expected to be. NC State was 5-1 with Leary under center. After he was lost, they won a couple of games to get to the postseason. But there was no doubt that the Pack was a lesser team than they were with Leary. Now comes the coaching carousel season and what many see as the perfect time for Doeren to get out when the getting is good and avoid the posse.
