Football Betting Online - NFL, NCAA, XFL and USFL Odds
When it comes to football betting the NFL is king, while college football is perhaps the queen. In addition to NFL and college football betting, there is XFL and USFL in the spring and early summer months and CFL betting in the summer and fall months.
NFL
The NFL dominates all forms of betting in the United States, while College Football is usually a solid second choice. NFL betting begins with the Hall of Fame Game each August and continues with three weeks of preseason action. The Preseason action in NFL betting is just a blip on the radar compared to regular season NFL betting. The regular season begins each September and the handle on NFL games at online sportsbooks is large. There are 16 games each week early in the season before the bye weeks begin, so all 32 teams are in action. Regular season NFL Betting runs through late December with NFL playoff action beginning in early January of the following calendar year, culminating with the Super Bowl in early February.
NCAA Football
College football betting begins in late August and the regular season ends in early December. The bowl games begin in mid-December, culminating with the College Football Playoff National Championship game in early January of the following calendar year. College football has used a four team College Football Playoff system for 10 years, but that will change for the 2024 season with 12 teams making it into the College Football Playoff.
XFL
The XFL began play in 2023 under the new ownership group of Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Gerry Cardinale. A total of eight teams are in the XFL with the regular season beginning in late February. Four teams qualify for the playoffs with the XFL Championship Game taking place in mid-May.
USFL
The USFL began play in April of 2022 and currently has eight teams which play in four cities. The USFL began their second season in April of 2023 and that season will conclude with a four-team playoff, culminating in the USFL Championship Game on July 1, 2023 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
CFL
The Canadian Football League (CFL) has nine teams that play a 21-week regular season, where each team will play 18 games and have three bye weeks. Traditionally, the season lasts from mid-June to early November. Six teams compete in the league's three-week postseason after the regular season, which concludes with the Grey Cup championship game in late November.
