Because a number of fights figure to be pretty one-sided, the bookmakers will generally come up with several proposition bets on major fights. The most popular of these is the over/under for how long the fight lasts. The wager works in the same manner as an over/under bet in sports betting, but instead of betting there will be over or under a certain number of points scored, you are betting over or under a certain number of rounds taking place.

If you bet on a fight to go over 6 rounds, for example, you will win your bet as long as both fighters are in the ring for the start of the seventh round. If you wager on the under six full rounds, you will win your wager provided the fight is stopped anytime prior to the bell signaling the end of round 6. If the fight is stopped between the end of the sixth round and the beginning of the seventh round, all over/under bets would be declared losers.

The other main proposition wager for boxing matches is betting which fighter will win by a stoppage or knockout. For this bet, you will only win if your fighter scores a knockout or the referee stops the bout and declares him the winner.

Event: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua

When: Saturday, December 7th, 2019

Where: Diriyah Arena, Diriya, Saudi Arabia

Why: WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight titles

Andy Ruiz Jr. shocked the world this summer. He came into his bout with Anthony Joshua as a massive +1100 underdog per the boxing betting odds, and he stunned everyone by beating Joshua by TKO in the seventh round. Ruiz (33-1 with 22 knockouts) was sent to the canvas in the third round, but he responded with a fury of punches and dropped Joshua (22-1 with 21 knockouts) twice later in the round. The next three rounds between the two heavyweights were rather lackadaisical, but Ruiz exploded once again in the seventh round. Continue

When: Saturday, December 7th, 2019

Where: Barclays Center, New York, New York

Why: WBC Middleweight title

Jermall Charlo will put his WBC Middleweight belt on the line on Pearl Harbor Day when he takes on Dennis Hogan in the Big Apple. This will be the fourth title defense for Charlo (29-0 with 21 knockouts) and his fourth fight at the Barclays Center since July 2017, so he will certainly be the fan favorite. Hogan (28-2-1 with seven knockouts) does not have an appealing style, but he has done an exceptional job winning the judges’ approval. The primary card for this title fight starts at 9 p.m. ET, and it will be broadcast on Showtime. Continue

No matter the weight class, Terence Crawford has reigned supreme throughout his career. The WBO Welterweight champion has continued to dominate since rising from first Lightweight and then Light Welterweight. Crawford (35-0 with 26 knockouts) will be the centerpiece of one of the last big fights of the calendar year on December 14 when he faces Egidijus Kavaliauskas (21-0-1 with 17 knockouts) in historic Madison Square Garden. Event: Richard Commey vs. Teofimo Lopez Jr.

When: Saturday, December 14th, 2019

Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, New York

Why: IBF Lightweight title
