Boise State Broncos CFB Week 2 Betting Lines
Spender Danielson made his debut last week as the permanent head coach of the Boise State Broncos. Boise State had a tricky game at Georgia Southern but won in a 56-45 shootout. This week, the Broncos have a daunting challenge on the road against the Oregon Ducks, one of the top contenders for the 2024 national championship. Once upon a time, Boise State could beat Oregon, as they did when Chris Petersen was coach. But that was a different era with no transfer portal or NIL payments.

Boise State Broncos Weekly Matchup
In Week 2 college football action, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, the Oregon Ducks will host the Boise State Broncos at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR. Kickoff time is set for 10 p.m. ET, and television coverage on Peacock.
There will be some betting on college football using crypto interest in the Broncos. Bosie State is seen as a team that can hang some with Oregon, especially after the Ducks failed to get the cash last week.
Last game, the Oregon Ducks won 24-14 against the Idaho Vandals as 49-point home favorites. The game went under the total of 60. Oregon has a record of 1-0 straight up, 0-1 against the spread, and 0-1 over/under the total.
Boise State Broncos Weekly Recap
Last game, the Boise State Broncos won 56-45 against the Georgia Southern Eagles as 13-point road favorites. The game went over the total of 57.5. Boise State has a record of 1-0 straight up, 0-1 against the spread, and 1-0 over/under the total. Ashton Jeanty ran for school records of six touchdowns and 267 yards, and Boise State overcame Georgia Southern 56-45 on Saturday in a season opener.
Spencer Danielson, who coached the Broncos’ final four games last season and went 3-1, picked up his first win without the interim tag.
Jeanty collected 267 yards on 20 carries, surpassing Cedric Minter's 261 yards against Northern Michigan in 1978. He gave Boise State its first points with a 77-yard score and finished his scoring with a 75-yarder that gave the Broncos a 42-37 lead 13 seconds after the Eagles had gone on top with 13 1/2 minutes left in the game.
Freshman Sire Gaines cemented the outcome with a 38-yard touchdown run and a 17-yard scoring reception. The seven-team rushing touchdowns were one short of the school record and the most since 2007.
Boise State's Maddux Madsen was 22-of-31 passing for 280 yards with a TD and an interception.
Georgia Southern's JC French was 28-of-50 passing for 323 yards and two scores and added a rushing TD.
Boise State led 28-9 with 2 1/2 minutes left in the first half before the Eagles scored the next 21 points. The teams exchanged the lead twice more before Jeanty scored his final TD.
Already largely considered the best running back in college football this season, Jeanty added to his legend Saturday in Boise State’s victory at Georgia Southern.
Jeanty's touchdown runs came from distances of 77 yards, 75 yards, 26 yards, 5 yards, and twice from one yard out.
The Broncos' offense finished with 651 total yards. On the other hand, the defense allowed 461 yards, allowing Georgia Southern to keep the contest close throughout. As the Broncos continue their campaign for a spot in the College Football Playoff, some areas for improvement revealed themselves. The offensive rushing game, however, clearly isn't one of them.
With such an impressive win, gamblers will be giving Boise State a serious look. Oregon will have its hands full with Jeanty.

Boise State fired Andy Avalos after ten games last year, but the Broncos rallied under Spencer Danielson to reach the Mountain West title game. The Broncos have a shot at the Group of 5’s playoff spot if they can get production out of the quarterback and navigate a schedule that features Oregon, Washington State, and Oregon State in the non-conference. Running back Ashton Jeanty is among college football's top playmakers, and the defense is deep and talented at all three levels in '24.
At first glance, it is possible that the Broncos could have a 5-star quarterback throwing to a 5-star wide receiver, with a Heisman-level running back leading the run game.
Highly touted USC transfer Malachi Nelson was QB1 during spring practice, but he will still have to win the job from Maddux Madsen in the fall officially. Madsen missed the spring due to injury but will get a chance to run new coordinator Dirk Koetter’s offense in fall camp. Either QB will be thankful to have Mountain West Conference Player of the Year Ashton Jeanty at running back. Jeanty was seventh in the nation at 112.3 rushing yards per game, and he led the nation in yards from scrimmage per game at 159.7. He also scored 19 touchdowns.
Edge Ahmed Hassanein racked up 12.5 sacks last season, good for second in the MWC, and he should again be in line for first-team All-MWC honors. Jayden Virgin-Morgan is another defensive end who coaches expect will contend for league honors.
Kicker Jonah Dalmas has a shot at becoming the NCAA’s all-time leader in field goals, needing 18 to set the record. He has kicked 24, 23, and 26 in the last three seasons, respectively. Punter James Ferguson-Reynolds was second in the nation with a 49.7-yard average.
