Philadelphia Union MLS Betting
It might be tough for the Philadelphia Union to continue to compete at a high level in 2022. The Union have been one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference for three straight seasons, but they have now parted ways with Brenden Aaronson, Kacper Przybylko, and Jamiro Monteiro in the last two years. All three players were elite contributors for the team, and it will be tough to replace them. Philadelphia spent money to acquire two new Designated Players in Mikael Uhre and Julian Carranza, and the Union are hoping that they can keep this club among the elite teams in the East.

Philadelphia Union 2022 Preview
The Philadelphia Union have proved the doubters wrong with six wins and six draws in their first 13 matches of the 2022 campaign. Philadelphia is currently on top of the Eastern Conference, and it’s looking like either the Union or one of the two New York teams will finish atop the table in the regular season.
Daniel Gadzag has been a major reason behind this development as he has seven goals and three assists through the first 13 games. Gadzag is starting to get MVP and MLS Best XI buzz for his play, and the 26-year-old international has really come into his own in his second season with the club.
Carranza has been solid too with four goals and three assists to be the second leading scorer on the Union, and Alejandro Bedoya has had some nice moments too. Uhre has only played sparingly this season though, as he is dealing with a quad injury.
Two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Andre Blake has been excellent in net once again too. Philadelphia is allowing a league low nine goals through 13 matches, and Blake might be in line to win his third Golden Glove.

Philadelphia treaded water in the MLS for several years. The Union finished with a winning record just once in their first eight seasons, but they managed to make the US Open Cup Finals three times in that stretch. Unfortunately, Philadelphia’s bid to pick up silverware was denied all three times as Seattle beat the Union in extra time in 2014, Sporting Kansas City knocked off Philadelphia in penalties in 2015, and Houston hammered Philly 3-0 in 2018.
The last few years have been good for the Union though. Philadelphia has finished with a winning record in four straight seasons, and the team has finished top three in the Eastern Conference for three straight years. They have been unable to make an MLS Cup Final, but they did win their first trophy in 2020 when they claimed the Supporters’ Shield as the team that finished with the best record in the regular season.
