Atlanta United FC MLS Betting
Although Atlanta United was supposed to be one of the best teams in the MLS at the start of the season, injuries and mediocre play have the Five Stripes sitting in the middle of the Eastern Conference standings a third of the way through the season. This is currently the most expensive roster in the MLS, as the ownership group has largely held onto its talent since letting Miguel Almiron and Pity Hernandez head across the pond. Star forward Josef Martinez scored two goals and two assists in his first five matches before having to undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee that he hurt two years ago, and the club is anxiously awaiting his return.

Atlanta United FC 2022 Preview
Ezequiel Barco is on loan at River Plate, and George Bello made the move to the Bundesliga prior to the start of the season. However, Atlanta United was largely able to bring back its best players from last year in 2022.
Thiago Almada is one of the keys to the Atlanta United attack, and he has performed pretty well through the first third of the season. Almada has three goals and three assists after being acquired for a record $16 million from Velez Sarsfield prior to the start of the season. The Five Stripes are hoping that he can be more like Miguel Almiron and less like Pity Hernandez, and this club is a title contender if he is like the former.
Luiz Araujo and Marcelino Moreno are the other two attackers that were hyped up coming into the 2022 campaign. Araujo was injured for a few weeks and recently rejoined the roster, and Moreno currently leads the team with five assists. Atlanta United hopes to really take its game to the next level once all four of their star offensive weapons are back.
Brooks Lennon is one of the top defenders in the MLS, and veteran goaltender Brad Guzan is still the primary man in between the posts for Atlanta United.

Atlanta United didn’t come into the league with a whimper, they came in with a bang. Arthur Blank wasn’t afraid to open his wallet in their first season, and that led to the club finishing in fourth place in 2017. Josef Martinez and Miguel Almiron showed a lot of promise, and they fulfilled that during their 2018 campaign.
Martinez smashed the single season scoring record with 31 goals in league play for Atlanta United in 2018. His play was an enormous part of their success, and they almost won the Supporters Shield after ripping apart the league for most of the regular season. Atlanta United sputtered a bit down the stretch, but they had no problems once the playoffs rolled around.
The club trounced both of their Big Apple opponents in the Eastern Conference playoffs to set up an MLS Cup Final with the Portland Timbers. There, Martinez broke open the scoring in the 39th minute before Franco Escobar added an insurance goal in the 54th minute to give Atlanta United the title.
The Five Stripes experienced a lot of turmoil at the start of the 2019 campaign. Atlanta didn’t pick up a win the first month of the season as the team adjusted to Frank de Boer’s preferred playing style, and they were stuck in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference at the halfway point of the season. They were one of the hottest teams over the second half of the year though, rising to second place in the Eastern Conference ahead of the playoffs.
In the postseason, Atlanta United shut out both the New England Revolution and the Philadelphia Union to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for a date with Toronto FC. The Five Stripes were favorites with the game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and they got off to a great start after Julian Gressel scored in the fourth minute of action. Unfortunately, that was the only goal that Atlanta United scored, and they fell to Toronto FC 2-1 after a late goal from Nick DeLeon.
