New York Red Bulls MLS Betting
The New York Red Bulls have made the playoffs for 12 straight years. They finished atop the Eastern Conference five times from 2010 to 2018, but they have been a middle of the pack team over the last three years. The Red Bulls just barely snuck into the postseason all three times, and they were quickly dispatched in the first round. That begs the question of whether or not the Red Bulls will continue to tread water or finally move in one direction or the other.

New York Red Bulls 2022 Preview
Lewis Morgan came over from Inter Miami for $1.2 million in GAM this offseason, and he has been the top goal scorer on the team with five tallies in 12 games. Patryk Klimala has been solid with four goals and three assists so far this season, while Omir Fernandez has been one of the best set-up men in the MLS with two goals and six assists. New acquisition Luquinhas is having a strong season too although his numbers don’t jump off the page.
The Red Bulls have been superb away from home with a 5-1-1 road record through the first third of the season. Their xG numbers on both sides of the ball are solid, and this team looks to be a real contender in the Eastern Conference.

Originally, the New York Red Bulls were known by a different name. The club began its life as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, and they were supposed to be one of the powerhouses in the early years of the MLS. The league wanted a team in New York to succeed, and the MetroStars were able to draw a ton of talent that other clubs weren’t because of their location. However, they have been a star-crossed franchise throughout their entire history.
Although the New York Red Bulls were one of the MLS’ original teams, they have yet to win any major trophy. The MLS only had 12 franchises for quite some time, but they were able to make it to just one MLS Cup and two U.S. Open Cup Finals, and they lost all three.
The club has seen its fortunes improve since its rebranding. Red Bull bought the team and changed the name in 2006, and all three of the franchise’s trips to the finals have come under the name New York Red Bulls. They won the Supporters’ Shield three times from 2013 to 2018 as the team with the best record in the league.
