2025 NFL Week 5 Best Bets - Football Lines

There are plenty of storylines as we head into Week 5 of the NFL season. We get our first round of byes with Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay and Pittsburgh all taking the week off leaving a total of 14 games on the slate. The betting week opens on Thursday with a NFC West battle between the 49ers and Rams with the winner retaining at least a tie for the lead. The division has been the toughest in the NFL so far with Seattle joining the California clubs at 3-1. The Cardinals are 2-2 making the NFC West one of only two divisions with all four teams at .500 or better. The Rams are an early 5.5-point favorite to extend their winning streak to four games over their in-state rival.

Minnesota continues its stay across the pond with an early Sunday game against Cleveland in London. Pittsburgh beat the Vikings, 24-21, last week in the first NFL regular season game in Ireland. The opening total of 36 is the lowest we’ve seen this season and just the third time the number’s been under 40. The Browns have not scored more than 17 points in any of their last nine games and are next to last this season averaging 14 points.

The two Super Bowl favorites are the league’s only remaining unbeaten teams and they’ll look to extend their winning streaks. The Bills opened as a 7.5-point favorite in their Sunday Night Football AFC East confrontation with New England. Following their dramatic comeback win over Baltimore in their season opener, Buffalo has won their last three games by at least 10 points. Buffalo has won 11 of its last 13 games against division foes with the only losses in that stretch to New England.

With the Chiefs rebounding from the first 0-2 start since Patrick Mahomes became the starter and the Jaguars winning three of their first four games for the first time since 2018, the Monday Night Football matchup to close the betting week suddenly became quite compelling. Kansas City had its highest point total in any game since Week 3 of the 2023 season in its 37-20 beating of Baltimore. Mahomes tossed four scoring passes and the offense looked different with Xavier Worthy in the lineup. The Jags have a NFL high 13 takeaways getting at least three in every game. The Chiefs have won the last eight meetings and they are a field goal favorite to make it nine in row.

A total of seven interconference games are on the slate with the matchup between Denver and Philadelphia the most interesting. The defending champs stayed undefeated holding off another contender Tampa Bay on Sunday for a 31-25 triumph. That followed wins over the Rams and Chiefs extending Philly’s overall winning streak to 10 straight. The Eagles hit the board as 4.5-point home favorite.

Four teams suffered their first loss of the season in Week 4 and three teams remain without a win. The 1992 San Diego Chargers are the only team in NFL history to reach the playoffs after starting 0-4 so the outlook is bleak for the winless teams. A massive favorite in Buffalo last week, the Saints hung close to stay within the 14.5-point line in their 31-19 loss. New Orleans opened as a slight 1-point favorite in its Week 5 tilt with the visiting Giants. The Jets and Titans are also without a win in 2025.

Prior to Joe Burrow getting hurt the line for the Lions at Bengals matchup would have been much closer. But with the Bengals struggling the line of Detroit -9.5 is the largest on the board. With Jake Browning behind center the Bengals scored a total of 13 points the last two games. They were held without a TD in Monday’s loss to Denver and Browning has 265 passing yards and two interceptions in those games. Meanwhile the Lions are averaging more than 41 points in their current three-game winning streak.

Wager disputes (claims)

If you disagree with any aspect of a wager you’ve placed, you are welcome to log an official dispute (commonly known as a “claim”). Claims must be reported no later than 15 (fifteen) calendar days following the settlement of the wager.

If following an initial review of the case there remains any doubt regarding the wager type, line, market, amount, or any other detail, the claim will be escalated to the BookMaker management team. All decisions made by them are final.
