San Antonio Brahmas UFL Season Recap
The 2025 UFL betting season proved to be a difficult and disappointing campaign for the San Antonio Brahmas, who finished with a 1–9 record and anchored the bottom of the XFL Conference standings all the way through. Just one year removed from a trip to the UFL Championship Game, expectations were high. However, a combination of coaching instability, offensive inefficiency, and defensive regression ultimately derailed the team’s season.
San Antonio opened the year under the direction of longtime coach Wade Phillips, but after an 0–3 straight up and 1-2 start against the UFL odds, Phillips stepped away for personal reasons. That move led to the appointment of 28-year-old Payton Pardee as interim head coach, making him the youngest head coach in modern professional football. Formerly the team’s offensive coordinator, Pardee was thrust into a challenging situation, tasked with turning around a squad that had lost its footing early on.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Brahmas struggled mightily to produce. Quarterback Kellen Mond started the season but was eventually replaced by veteran signal-caller Kevin Hogan after failing to find rhythm. The change did little to reverse the team’s fortunes. San Antonio managed just 13.6 points per game, ranking last in the league. The passing attack was particularly underwhelming, generating only 125.4 yards per contest. Despite those struggles, running back Jashaun Corbin stood out as a consistent contributor, tallying a league-high 514 rushing yards and scoring four of the team’s limited touchdowns.
Defensively, the Brahmas regressed from their 2024 form, where they had been among the league’s most formidable units. In 2025, they surrendered 27.4 points and 322.4 total yards per game—representing league-low outputs in each stat category. Returning impact players such as linebackers Tavante Beckett and Jordan Williams were unable to lead the group back to prominence. The pass rush was nearly nonexistent, finishing the year with just 12 total sacks. It was a steep fall from grace for a defense that set the tone for the franchise punching a ticket to the UFL title game a short season ago.
The lone bright spot of the season came in Week 4, when the Brahmas secured their only win of the year in a 24–18 triumph over the D.C. Defenders as 7.5-point road dogs per the closing UFL spread. The victory hinted at a possible turnaround, especially with Pardee showing promise as a young leader. Unfortunately, that momentum quickly dissipated, as the Brahmas lost their final six games and failed to cover any of those games along the way.
Adding to the team’s woes was a noticeable decline in fan engagement. Attendance at the Alamodome dropped as losses mounted, leaving questions about the team’s long-term outlook both on and off the field. Looking ahead to 2026, the Brahmas face a crucial offseason. Front office leadership will need to evaluate the coaching staff, identify personnel upgrades, and reestablish a clear direction for the future. With several foundational pieces in place but major areas in need of repair, San Antonio’s focus will be on rebuilding a roster capable of competing again—and restoring faith among its fan base.
San Antonio Brahmas Week 10 Recap
The San Antonio Brahmas (1-9, 3-7 ATS) closed out a difficult 2025 UFL betting campaign with a 23-6 home loss to the Arlington Renegades, dropping their final record to a league-worst 1-9. Despite an early takeaway that led to their only lead of the game—a field goal in the first quarter—the Brahmas quickly fell behind and were never able to recover against a balanced Arlington squad that dominated on both sides of the ball. San Antonio’s lone touchdown-free game of the season saw continued struggles on offense, particularly in the passing game. Quarterback play was once again ineffective, with no explosive plays downfield and few sustained drives. Running back Jashaun Corbin was one of the few bright spots for the Brahmas, breaking off a pair of big runs in the third quarter to set up a 35-yard field goal that trimmed the deficit to 20-6. Corbin finished as the team’s leading rusher, though overall production remained limited.
Defensively, the Brahmas couldn’t slow down Luis Perez and the Renegades’ offense in the first half. The unit gave up 231 total yards before halftime and was on the field for much of the game as the offense failed to sustain possessions. One of the game’s pivotal moments came on special teams when the Brahmas allowed a forced fumble on a kickoff, which set up another Arlington score and extended the lead to double digits. The San Antonio defense showed signs of life in the second half, holding the Renegades to just six points after intermission and coming up with a late interception. But it wasn’t enough to make up for an anemic offense that failed to find the end zone and struggled on third down throughout. The Brahmas enter the offseason with significant questions across the board, especially on offense, after managing just a single win all season.
