Indiana Pacers 2025-26 NBA Betting Lines

Indiana Pacers NBA Betting Lines

Under the leadership of 4th-year head coach Rick Carlisle, the Indiana Pacers have shown improvement every campaign. And in the 2024-25 season, the Pacers made history with an Eastern Conference championship. It was only the second appearance in the NBA Finals in franchise history. The Pacers were only the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference for the 2025 NBA Playoffs, and yet they delivered, making many bargain-hunting gamblers happy along the way. Indiana does not have a dominant superstar but instead relies on a strong team format for its success. Still, Indiana has become an impressive franchise that appears to be on the upswing. They are no longer a team that is ignored on the NBA board. But an uninspired summer offseason has some gamblers concerned as does the loss of two top players for the year ahead.

Off-Season Moves for 2025-26

Key additions: Jay Huff

Key subtractions: Myles Turner

In a move the Pacers did not see coming, the Bucks created enough salary cap space to sign Myles Turner away from their rivals, robbing Indiana of one of its key cogs en route to the NBA Finals this past season.

Losing Tyrese Haliburton to an Achilles injury for the entirety of the 2025-26 season was bad enough. But to also lose Turner for nothing was devastating. It turned Indiana into just another team in the immediate aftermath of the franchise exceeding all expectations. It is an unfortunate set of circumstances that could not be rectified by the addition of Jay Huff, who has played well in spot center duty for Memphis.

Gamblers may look back and think the Pacers were better off not paying Myles Turner through his mid-30s, but there are no banners for fiscal responsibility, and Indiana lost a key piece to a starting five that relied more on fit than sheer talent.

The Pacers have no clear replacement for Turner. Although gamblers liked taking a flier on Huff, who has a similar skill set, expecting him to start after falling out of Memphis's playoff rotation is unrealistic. Indiana's other traditional centers are also career backups.

Key Players

F Pascal Siakam was a key contributor to the 2019 Toronto Raptors NBA championship team and is a 3-time NBA All-Star, including last year. This past season, Siakam averaged 20.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

PF Tyrese Haliburton is a 2-time NBA All-Star. This season, Haliburton averaged 18.6 points and 9.2 assists per contest. However, as mentioned earlier, Haliburton is out for the upcoming campaign.

SG Benedict Mathurin averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest as a key contributor for Indiana in 2025.

C Myles Turner was another asset for the Pacers last year. Turner averaged 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Head Coach

Head coach Rick Carlisle is one of the most accomplished leaders in NBA history. Carlisle was the 2002 NBA Coach of the Year and led the 2011 Dallas Mavericks to the 2011 NBA championship. He is best known for leading Dallas to a franchise renaissance with owner Mark Cuban. He has a career record of 993-860 in the regular season.

Indiana Pacers History

It made a great deal of sense for the ABA to establish a team in basketball-mad Indiana. The Indiana Pacers were an ABA expansion team in 1967 and were arguably the best team in the history of the league, competing against the NBA. Indiana made the playoffs in all nine years of the ABA’s existence, and the Pacers went to the ABA Finals five times. They won three ABA championships, more than any other team in the league.

Due to the entry fee required to join the NBA, the Indiana Pacers struggled for their first dozen years in the new league. They only made the playoffs twice, and they didn’t become a consistent contender until the 1990s. That’s when the arrival of Reggie Miller made the Pacers one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, and the team went on to make seven straight playoff appearances. Miller led the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals twice, but they lost in seven games to the New York Knicks in 1994 and fell in seven games to the Orlando Magic in 1995.

Indiana did finally win the Eastern Conference in 2000, with the Hick from French Lick coaching the team. Larry Bird led the Pacers to a 56-26 record, as Miller, Jalen Rose, Mark Jackson, and Rik Smits finally knocked off the Knicks to make the NBA Finals. However, they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals.
