The top two teams in the NFC will battle it out in the conference championship game to see which club punches a ticket to Arizona in early February. Arguably the hottest team in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers take a 12-game overall winning streak into their showdown with the top-seeded Philadelphia Eagles. Overcoming the loss of two quarterbacks during the regular season, the Niners are headed back to the NFC title game for a second straight season with hope that Brock Purdy can get them to the Super Bowl. Purdy has yet to lose as a starter going 7-0 with six payouts in that run. If the opening line holds it’ll be the first time the Niners are catching points since Week 8 of the regular season. In a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs will determine the conference representative in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs are hosting for a fifth consecutive season with last year’s 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals making them 2-2 in the previous four conference title games. The big concern for the Chiefs ahead of this matchup is the health of Patrick Mahomes, who sustained an ankle injury in the Divisional Round win over Jacksonville. While KC has won a bunch of games over the years with Mahomes running the show, they are 0-3 SU and ATS in the last three encounters with the Bengals. The AFC Championship game will take place on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO and will be televised on CBS. ... 

The other half of both conference championship games will be decided on Sunday with matchups between clubs that all won at least 12 regular season games. An AFC tilt between division winners has the Cincinnati Bengals visiting the Buffalo Bills. The teams will get a chance to put the debate over which team is the best to rest after their regular season game was cancelled. The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers meet for the second straight postseason renewing a bitter playoff rivalry from the 1990s. Winners of nine straight games following a 24-17 decision over Baltimore last week, the Bengals hit the road with wins and covers in each of their last four away contests. And hopefully this game has less drama, at least in terms of player safety, than the first meeting. Both No. 1 seeds are in action on Saturday when the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs gets started. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles opened as slightly more than a converted touchdown favorite in their matchups. The Chiefs look to continue their run of postseason success under Patrick Mahomes as an 8-point favorite against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who staged a remarkable comeback to knock off the Chargers in the wild card round. I should try something different this week and switch my picks after I make them. Had a used that technique in Week 17 I would’ve been a perfect 3-0. Instead I’ve gone just 2-12 on my picks over the last four weeks dropping my season record below .500 wiping out all the gains I made during a 15-6 heater during the middle of the season.
