Gennady Golovkin has one minor blemish on an otherwise perfect record. Golovkin and Canelo were set to go at it again to settle the championship once and for all. But Alvarez was disqualified last month, much to the chagrin and disappointment of millions of fight fans. Golovkin still wanted to fight, against anyone that would be available. So, it was quickly arranged that Vanes Martirosyan would fill the space that originally belonged to Canelo Alvarez. As a result, Golovkin will enter this bout as a heavy favorite against Martirosyan. The bout is at least a championship matchup on the marquee. The International Boxing Organization, World Boxing Association, and World Boxing Council Middleweight championship title belts will be on the line. But make no mistake about it Golovkin is an overwhelming favorite. The biggest question is whether or not Martirosyan has a “punchers chance.” ... 

Maciej Sulecki has never lost a fight but also has a resume that is one of an unproven champion. Not well known, at least not yet, Sulecki is gunning for his first ever championship opportunity. If he can pick up a win in his next fight, that opportunity will be available. But it won’t be easy for the Polish native as he will be going up against a proven champion with a far more impressive resume. Daniel Jacobs will be the huge favorite in his WBA Middleweight eliminator matchup with Sulecki. Part of that is Jacobs being the better-known fighter. Part of that is also based on his record of winning a title belt and going toe to toe against the very best. Is the undefeated Sulecki for real? Does he have more than a punchers chance? Jessie Vargas is known as “The Pride of Las Vegas” for a reason. He has been one of the most promising young boxers in recent memory as the winner of multiple title belts. Luck has turned some for Vargas however as he has lost two of his last four bouts and currently is without a championship. On April 21 he will continue his comeback trail with a matchup against Adrien Broner, a championship boxer in his own right. If Vargas can get past the well respected Broner he will be on the inside track for a shot at another title bout.
