Hurd was born in Accokeek, Maryland and still lives there.

In his last bout on October 14, 2017 Hurd scored a RTD win in the tenth round of a scheduled 12 round bout that took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. With the win Hurd was able to successfully defend the International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight title. He won that title belt on February 25, 2017 with a TKO win over Tony Harrison in the ninth round of a scheduled 12 round bout that took place at Legacy Arena in Birmingham.

Erislandy Lara is the top ranked Super Welterweight in the world and holds title belts for the International Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association Super World Welterweight titles. Lara is 34 years of age and a native of Cuba that now resides in Houston, Texas. His career record is 25-2-2 with 14 of his 25 wins coming by knockout. Also known as “The American Dream” Lara stands at 5’9” with a reach of 74” and fights from a southpaw stance.

Lara last fought on October 14, 2017 and scored a unanimous decision win over Terrell Gausha in a scheduled 12 round bout that was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Lara was able to knock out Gausha in the fourth round. With the win Lara was able to successfully defend the International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organization, and World Boxing Association Super World Welterweight titles.

Lara won the World Boxing Association Super Welterweight title on December 7, 2013 when he scored a unanimous decision win over Austin Trout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Lara knocked down Trout in the 11th round of the bout. Since that time, he has held several various title belts while establishing his championship reputation and credibility.

Perhaps Lara is as well known and respected for a fight that he actually lost. Lara took on Canelo Alvarez on July 12, 2013 and lost a split decision in a 12-round bout that took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. There was no title belt on the line.
