  • BookMaker.eu Two previous NFL Defensive Player of the Year award winners are among the favorites to be named the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Aaron Donald is the best defensive player in the NFL and a three-time winner, and he will always be among the top contenders to earn this honor. Last year’s winner T.J. Watt is among the favorites too, although the Pittsb...

  • BookMaker.eu With the 2022 NFL Draft now in the rearview mirror, I thought it would be a good time to see how the betting markets reacted to what all 30 front offices did through the weekend. To do that, I took a look at what the odds to win Super Bowl LVII were at online sportsbooks heading into the draft and compared them to what they looked like early Monday morning. Save for the San Francisco ...

  • BookMaker.eu Quarterbacks flew off the board in last year’s draft. In all, a total of five field generals were selected over the course of the first 15 selections. This year, I don’t think a single one will hear their name called once the first 15 picks have been announced. As such, it comes with little surprise to see online sportsbooks lining total amount of QB’s selected in the first round at 3.5 with absurd -362 juice attached to the under. Personally, I wouldn’t be shocked if at most two quarterbacks he...

  • BookMaker.eu Teams atop of the draft order have a number of needs. The owners of the No. 1 pick – the Jacksonville Jaguars – need help at WR, EDGE, and interior OL after making some moves in the offseason. The Detroit Lions desperately need help at the safety, EDGE, and WR positions. The Houston Texans overall roster is in flux with new head coach Lovie Smith needing ample support added to the secondary, defensive line, and backfield. As such, online sportsbooks look to be of the belief that all three teams ...

  • BookMaker.eu With front offices throwing absurd big money contracts at wide receivers this past offseason, it’s become quite clear just how important the position is in this day and age of the NFL. As such, I’m thinking a healthy amount of pass catchers will be going off the board in the first round of 2022 NFL Draft betting. When I touted the over of 5.5 wide receivers going off the board in the first round last week, the vig at online sportsbooks attached to the high side of the impost clocked in at an eye-opening -180. Fast forward a week and it now stands at an alarming -280! I hope you locked you locked that wager in when suggested. Current drafty position odds relay the idea that the first wide receiver coming off the board will be either Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson or USC’s Drake London with both players’ draft position clocking in at 10.5. I personally believe the former is the better choice, and the recent odds movement dictates as such. No joke, another 60 cents was added to the vig on the under of Wilson’s draft position prop as I wrote this article. Come draft day, it wouldn’t shock me if the Buckeyes premiere pass catcher made a mockery of the impost regardless! ...

  • BookMaker.eu Last year’s NFL draft was loaded with high-end quarterback talent evidenced by five of the first 15 picks coming from the position. An area of weakness in the draft class came up front on the edges of the defensive line. It took until pick No. 12 for an edge rusher to get selected. It was none other than Micah Parsons who would go on to rejuvenate the Dallas Cowboys defense and win some hardware along the way. The same can’t and won’t be said about this year’s draft class with it loaded with edg...

  • BookMaker.eu A bulk of my position total pre-draft wagers has forced me to lay a ton of chalk to back the sides I like. That will once again be the case when it comes to the total amount of quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Online sportsbooks currently have the under of 3.5 players juiced at a whopping -335. Last year’s draft saw five QBs snagged in the first round. The number to beat then was lined at 4.5. NFL bettors that hit the over of that prop were able to cash in after Roger Goodell announced the first 15 selections. Personally, I’m not sure this year’s QB crop will find five quarterbacks selected through the first two rounds! Make it a point to hunt out the best rate of return. If your out allows for buying these types of wagers up or down, buy the total QB prop down to three or 2.5 to set up more satisfying plus-money returns. It seriously wouldn’t shock me if only one field general was selected. At most, I foresee two going off the board over the course of the first 32 picks. ...

  • BookMaker.eu Online sportsbooks aren’t leaving much leeway for NFL Draft bettors when it comes to attacking the betting prop of total wide receivers drafted in the first round. After watching what Ja’Marr Chase and Jaylen Waddle were able to do in their rookie campaigns a season ago, you know darn well front offices across the league will be hell-bent on acquiring the next major difference maker at the premiere pass catching position. And wouldn’t you know it; the 2022 NFL Draft is loaded with playmakers at the position enough to the point that I think the total number of pass catchers acquired in the opening round surpasses the current impost with relative ease. And of course, we’re going to need to lay a decent sized amount of chalk - which only seems to be rising - in order to cash that ticket in. While the opening round is going to hear the names of many offensive linemen and defensive secondary players called out, there’s plenty of room still made available for teams to cash in at wide receiver as well. If you agree with hitting the over of this prop, I’d do so now since the number to beat is likely to continue getting juiced or bumped up to six. ...

  • BookMaker.eu Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott, Brian Dawkins; the more recent safety trio is considered to be one of the best to ever buckle a chin strap at the NFL level. Then there’s the second tier that includes Steve Atwater, John Lynch, and Eric Berry. Is the DNA of those players entrenched in the genome of a player looking to land a gig in the NFL for 2022? That doesn’t look to be the case when going by the current odds of total safeties drafted in the first round at online sportsbooks. Those booking prop bets for...

  • BookMaker.eu The offensive side of the ball was represented well in last year’s NFL Draft with 18 players being selected in the first round. Standout performers included Offensive Rookie of the Year Award winner Ja’Marr Chase, Kyle Pitts, Jaylen Waddle, Penei Sewell, DeVonta Smith, Rashawn Slater and Najee Harris. None of the five quarterbacks drafted did much to cement their placement in Canton come the end of their careers. While there are some real nice offensive pieces on the table entering 2022 NFL Draf...

  • BookMaker.eu Though the first round of last year’s NFL Draft only saw 14 players selected, no team was happier to see that run of quarterbacks go down from picks 1-11 than the Dallas Cowboys. Because of it, Penn State’s Micah Parsons ultimately fell in Jerry Jones’s lap; the rest was history. Parsons proved to be a one man wrecking crew whose efforts dramatically improved Big Ds performance on the defensive side of the ball. Is a player with similar DNA as Parsons in this year’s defensive crop? Online sports...

  • BookMaker.eu While cornerback isn’t the flashiest of positions that gets NFL Draft bettors’ juices flowing, it’s arguably the most important defensive position in this day and age of the NFL. As tough it is to play any sort of competitive defense with the NFL now predominantly a passing league, team’s that trot a stud cover man onto the field always have an edge going into any matchup. A grand total of five cornerbacks were drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Should a repeat of that tally occur...

  • BookMaker.eu While fantasy football players are mostly concerned with what’s going down at the quarterback, running back and wide receiver positions, it’s the offensive line that allows for the Jonathan Taylor’s of the world to rack up all that yardage. It also allows for gunslingers like Justin Herbert to throw for all those touchdowns. Just ask the Chargers QB1 how he felt about upper management’s decision to select Rashawn Slater with the No. 13 pick in last year’s draft! He was one of five offensive linemen that were drafted in the first round of last year’s draft, and nearly all of them made impacts in their rookie campaigns. The O-Line is basically the straw that stirs the drink, and the 2022 NFL Draft is chock full of hogs expected to be selected over the course of the first 32 selections. The number to beat currently clocks in at 7.5 at online sportsbooks with the over offering up an even money return. Let’s take a deep dive into the options and see whether it’s the over or under that offers up value on the total offensive linemen drafted in the first round prop. ...

  • BookMaker.eu The Jacksonville Jaguars have the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. They are not going to take a quarterback after selecting Trevor Lawrence first overall last year, and the oddsmakers seem to think they have zeroed in on Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson. Although Evan Neal was the odds-on favorite a couple weeks ago, we have seen the odds move in Hutchinson’s favor since the NFL Combine. If Hutchinson were to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, he would be the 21st defensive player to have the honor...

  • BookMaker.eu The Super Bowl Halftime Show has been one of the most exciting parts of the Super Bowl experience for the last two decades. Even non-sports fans tune in to see some of the top musical acts in the world, and this year’s spectacle will be no different. Everyone over 30 knows Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige, and there is something for the younger crowd too with the inclusion of Kendrick Lamar. The trailer for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show currently has over 12 million views on YouTube, so it’s safe to say there is palpable excitement for what we will see in Los Angeles this Sunday. ...

  • BookMaker.eu At the onset of the week is an excellent list of exotic props that will keep everyone busy. The Super Bowl exotic props bets list is quite lengthy and could take several pages. We are going to focus on the multi-sport format of the exotic props. To illuminate the cross between National Basketball Association and National Hockey League players and games with the Super Bowl is a huge hit. This product is a great example of the evolution of props betting through the years. Once upon a time, gambler...

  • BookMaker.eu Once upon a time, props betting was something that gamblers did on the side for amusement on Super Sunday. The best example is the one about wagering on heads or tails for the opening coin toss. But these days, Super Bowl props rank with the game itself as a science for many handicappers. Of course, the online sportsbooks feed into this new era of evaluating props. This year are treated to an outstanding quarterbacking matchup of Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams. And with that comes a load of support talent. ...

  • BookMaker.eu The Cincinnati Bengals must feel like a team of destiny after their improbable run to Super Bowl LVI. There is one team standing in their way to the first NFL title in the franchise’s history, though. The Bengals ended a three-decade playoff winless streak in the wild card round then knocked off the AFC’s top two seeds on the road. They came back from an 18-point deficit to beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and have one more hurdle to jump in the Los Angeles Rams. And they’ll have to do it on the road again with the game on the Rams home field. LA was positioned as a 4-point favorite on the opening line. ...

  • BookMaker.eu With two weeks between Championship Sunday and Super Bowl Sunday there is plenty of time to handicap the betting markets. The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting spectacle on the planet and as a result it takes in billions of dollars at the betting window. There are reasons for that. The extended time before kickoff allows sportsbooks to come up with all kinds of proposition bets availa...

  • BookMaker.eu The best teams don’t always win the Super Bowl and sometimes they don’t even make it that far. The Cincinnati Bengals made sure the best teams in the AFC wouldn’t be competing in Super Bowl LVI by knocking off the top-seeded Tennessee Titans in the divisional round and taking out No. 2 seed Kansas City in the AFC Championship game. Two seasons after going 2-14, the Bengals are competing for the NFL championship taking on the Los Angeles Rams in SoFi Stadium on Sunday, February 13. ...

  • BookMaker.eu The Los Angeles Rams had a better regular season record and will host the NFC Championship, but they have to clear a mental block against their division rival San Francisco 49ers to advance to Super Bowl LVI. Two of LA’s five losses were to the Niners, extending their overall losing streak in the series to six. The Rams could have avoided this matchup by taking care of business in the regular season finale however they let a 17-point lead slip away in a 27-24 setback that allowed the Niners to reach the postseason. That was the first of three straight road upsets for SF, who defeated Dallas and top-seed Green Bay in the first two rounds. The Rams opened as a 3-point favorite to reach their second Super Bowl in four seasons. ...

  • BookMaker.eu After their dramatic comeback overtime win over Buffalo last week you might expect the Kansas City Chiefs to have a letdown. Somehow I doubt that will happen with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line in their AFC Championship matchup against the upstart Cincinnati Bengals. Patrick Mahomes and the KC offense are clicking having scored 42 points in each of their two playoff wins. And they will need another outburst against the Bengals, who handed the Chiefs their only loss in the past 12 games with a 34-31 decision in Week 17. The Chiefs are hosting the conference title game for a fourth straight season and are a 7-point favorite to advance to their third consecutive Super Bowl. ...

  • BookMaker.eu To be the best you gotta beat the best. That’s what the Buffalo Bills face when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship. KC won the conference title for a second straight season with their 38-24 victory. Both teams had an easy time in the wild card round with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes directing potent offensive attacks. The teams combined to outscore their opponents 89-38 with each QB throwing five scoring passes. Buffalo exacted some revenge from ...

  • BookMaker.eu For Aaron Rodgers to get back to the Super Bowl he’ll have to slay his demons. And of course the biggest one is staring at the reigning and possible future MVP. It’s not going to be easy for the top-seeded Green Bay Packers, but the playoffs never are. Rodgers has never beaten the San Francisco 49ers in three career postseason starts against them but this could be the best Packers team in some time. And they are ready to get over the hump after losing the previous two NFC championship games, inc...

  • BookMaker.eu A storied playoff matchup from the 1990s is renewed when the San Francisco 49ers visit the Dallas Cowboys in a NFC Wild Card game on Sunday. The franchises dominated the NFL in the early part of that decade meeting three straight seasons in the NFC Championship. At the time many felt those games were the actual Super Bowl, and in a sense they were since the winner went on to claim the title. Dallas won three Super Bowls in a four-year run twice beating the Niners en route to the title. San Franc...
