NFL Week 2 Teaser Picks

Did I mention that all teaser picks on a single ticket need to win in order to payout? I did and the freakin Cowboys cost me a three-team winner last week. The Boys were so bad that even adding six points to their line wasn’t enough. Oh well, that’s what happens when you risk money on the NFL. It usually takes a few games to get a good read on teams and just because the Cowboys led the NFL in scoring last season doesn’t mean they’ll do it again. A measly three points is all they got against the Bucs in the 19-3 setback.

But I digress and move forward to Week 2 focusing on the positives of how two of my teaser picks worked to perfection. As it turns out I didn’t even need to tease the line in my two conquests since the Bears won outright and the Ravens easily covered. Teaser bets allow the risk-taker to move the spread or total by as much as six points with a minimum of two wagers. And it’s always a wise strategy to move the line across key numbers increasing the value of the pick.

Let’s look at a few Week 2 games that will win a teaser bet at BookMaker.eu.

NFL Week 2 Betting Lines

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints

Opening Line: Saints +2.5

Teaser Line: Saints +8.5

This line plays right into the teaser strategy. Catching 2.5 points on the opening line the Saints suddenly become an 8.5-point dog crossing key numbers of 3, 6 and 7 in the process. And it’s not like we’re talking about a huge underdog in this matchup. In fact, the Saints have had Tom Brady’s and the Bucs’ number winning all four regular season meetings since the GOAT arrived in Tampa.

Brady had a pedestrian outing in Dallas Sunday night and he’s struggled with turnovers against the Saints. He’s also in his mid-40s and skills can deteriorate quickly at that age. I’m not saying Brady is going to puke on himself and he’s been flipping off Father Time for years, but at some point the old man is going to win, he always does. And it’s not like the Saints became horrible when Sean Payton stepped down. Leave it to Jameis Winston to stick it to his former club making the Saints a winner on this teaser pick.

Football Betting Bonus

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams

Opening Line: Rams -10.5

Teaser Line: Rams -4.5

I like the Rams to bounce back after a crappy opening night effort against Buffalo. They are the defending champs after all and still have a roster that can win now. It also helps that they take a big step down in competition from one of the favorites to win the Lombardi Trophy this season to a team searching for an identity after breaking from longtime quarterback and face of the franchise Matt Ryan.

Laying double-digits in the NFL is always tough so bringing the spread down under a touchdown makes the Rams a more inviting pick. I believe LA will win behind an offensive ready to explode. Matthew Stafford still has to prove his shoulder isn’t an issue and facing a Falcons defense that imploded in the fourth quarter of last week’s loss could be exactly what he needs. There’s a chance something could go wrong like Stafford tossing three picks, so using the points to soften the blow and give breathing room is a good play.

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants

Opening Total: 42

Teaser Total: 36

Since I’m looking to bet the OVER on this game dropping the total six points increases my chances of getting a win. And 36 points seems awfully low even for these teams. Carolina didn’t move the football particularly well against Cleveland but Baker Mayfield did enough to get the Panthers so close to victory by throwing and running for a score. I can see Carolina’s offense being more polished in Week 2 after putting the ball on the ground five times, though they recovered them all. And Christian McCaffrey is still healthy, which should help the offense.

The Giants got a boost from Saquon Barkley and Brian Daboll showed he’s willing to pull out all the stops to get a win. That feeds to the players confidence, something the Giants have been missing the last few years. It doesn’t take much to score 36 combined points and the defenses aren’t good enough.
