Titans at Bills MNF Week 2 Betting

The Buffalo Bills were undoubtedly the most impressive team in Week 1. They entered the season as the favorites to win the Super Bowl, and they lived up to the billing by going on the road and dominating the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. Buffalo is now a huge home favorite over the Tennessee Titans in the first game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader in Week 2.

The Tennessee Titans will head north to face the Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills on Monday, September 19, 2022. This game will be played at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Odds Analysis

This spread hasn’t moved too much since it opened. Buffalo was originally a 9.5-point favorite, and the Bills are now a 10-point favorite as of Thursday morning. There has been more movement with the total as the initial over/under for this game was 50, and it has since fallen by two points.

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee has one of the most straightforward gameplans in the league. The Titans are going to run the ball as much as possible with Derrick Henry and use that to set up Ryan Tannehill on play action. Henry led the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2019 and 2020, and he was on his way to leading the NFL in both categories once more in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury. Although he played in just eight games last year, Henry ran for 937 yards and 10 touchdowns.

However, this offense seems to have lost a lot of its explosiveness due to the Titans’ decision to trade A.J. Brown. Tannehill relied on Brown in the passing game last season, but Tennessee no longer has a clear No. 1 receiver. Kyle Phillips was Tannehill’s top target in Week 1, catching six passes for 66 yards on nine targets, but the second leading receiver was running back Dontrell Hilliard. Rookie Treylon Burks was drafted to replace Brown as the team’s No. 1 receiver, and Burks should get more than five targets this week.

The Titans defense has one of the best 3-4 defensive linemen in the NFL in Jeffery Simmons. He was a one-man wrecking crew against Cincinnati in the playoffs last season, sacking Joe Burrow three times and recording eight tackles. Simmons had two sacks and six tackles last week against the New York Giants, picking up right where he left off as he looks for a massive contract extension. Kevin Byard is one of the top safeties in the league too, and he will be looking to confuse Josh Allen.

Buffalo Bills

This Buffalo offense looks downright terrifying. The Bills turned the ball over four times in the season opener, but they still managed to easily knock off the Rams by 21 points in Week 1. Josh Allen completed 26 of 31 passes for 297 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while also running for 56 yards and a score, and Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis look to be a dangerous receiving tandem.

The only real question for this offense is the ground game. Devin Singletary hasn’t been very effective, so the Bills have drafted Zack Moss and James Cook in recent years to try to supplant him. Moss and Cook both fumbled against the Rams in Week 1, so Singletary is still the go-to back for now.

Buffalo’s defense was great last year, and it seems to have gotten even better with the addition of Von Miller. The veteran linebacker had two sacks and three tackles for loss in the season opener, as the Bills brought down Matt Stafford seven times. Their safety tandem of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde is elite, and that’s why they didn’t miss top cornerback Tre’Davious White in Week 1.

Titans at Bills Free Pick

The ‘Over’ is a tempting play as Buffalo’s offense shouldn’t turn the ball over as many times, and they have had extra days to prep for Tennessee’s defense. That makes the Bills the right side too, although 10 points is a lot against a decent team.
