Seattle Sea Dragons XFL Online Betting

One could argue that the Seattle Sea Dragons were the best team in the third reboot of the XFL. The argument wouldn’t hold much water however considering Jim Haslett’s squad dropped both regular season meetings against the D.C. Defenders and then lost for a third time in the North Division Championship Game. That being said, the team was ultra-competitive in all three games and could’ve just as easily come out on top of both regular season skirmishes instead of losing each by an average of just 2.5 points per game. XFL bettors looked to have a game on their hands in the title game with it tied at nine apiece heading into the break, but D.C. proved to be the only side that made the necessary adjustments to see it all the way through. When the dust cleared, a competitive match was turned into a laugher with Seattle conceding 21 unanswered points before falling by a 37-21 final count. The Sea Dragons finished the year 7-4 SU, 6-5 against the XFL odds and saw the over cash in seven of their 11 played games.

Seattle Sea Dragons 2023 Season Recap

Seattle opened the season +500 choices to win the XFL Championship along with the Houston Roughnecks. But after losing two games they just as easily could’ve won to open the year, Seattle saw its odds fatten all the way up to +850. Then the winning streak occurred. QB Ben DiNucci would go on to lead the team to five straight wins to catapult itself right back into the North Division title race. Then it dropped a 34-33 decision in excruciating fashion in the rematch at home against the Defenders. That loss cost it any shot of winning the division. Even so, Seattle would pick itself up off the mat the following week and go into “The Dome” and secure a season-saving win against the St. Louis Battlehawks to take its playoff hopes off life support. In defeating the Vegas Vipers in the season finale, the Sea Dragons would go on to find itself into the playoffs by way of winning the fifth tiebreaker. In doing so, the XFL is said to be examining its playoff structure due to Seattle ousting a 7-3 team from the postseason and the South Division sending its second entrant into the second season with a losing record.

In leading the XFL in passing with nearly 3,000 yards and 23 touchdown passes, it’s likely DiNucci is invited to an NFL training camp. He also proved to be a dual-threat with his 305 rushing yards ranked sixth overall behind the likes of Abram Smith, Jacques Patrick, Brian Hill, De’Veon Smith, and Max Borghi. A majority of those ball carriers have already been contacted by NFL teams! For DiNooch to stick this time around, he must figure out a way to not be as reckless with the football. Though he didn’t throw a single errant pass in the North Division Championship, his 13 interceptions clocked in as the most in the league with a number of them ultimately keeping the team out of the win column. The 26-year old certainly has the moxie and talent to at the very least carry a clipboard as a backup. It could even turn into something bigger if the right coach gets ahold of him. The league and his fans wish him nothing but luck down the road, but he likely won’t be donning green and orange next season unless the XFL chooses to make him an ambassador of the league much like it already stated it will do with A.J. McCarron of the St. Louis Battlehawks.

But it wasn’t only the quarterback that allowed Seattle to trot one of the best offenses in the league onto the gridiron every passing week. WR Jahcour Pearson led the XFL in receiving yardage (670) and receptions (60) while also reeling in four touchdowns. The kids blazing fast as well so it would come as a shock if the NFL doesn’t come a knocking come May 15 when allowed to sign XFL players to contracts. Josh Gordon didn’t get suspended and accrued 540 receiving yards on 38 receptions hitting paydirt four times. While dominant, was the showing enough to peak interest from NFL GM’s knowing full well how many teams he burned in the past? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out! If not for D.C., the Sea Dragons were far and away the best team in the league for my money. Unfortunately, the Defenders were real and ultimately stood in Seattle’s way of winning the ‘ship.
