Anderson Silva, age 46, has only two professional boxing matches in his career. Chavez claims to be surprised that Silva was willing to go up against him. Chavez has also never fought before at 180 pounds. He believes that Silva has found the perfect opportunity and timing.

Chavez says he respects Silva and expects a good fight. But he also said that he has too much skill for Silva, although Chavez acknowledges that Silva at least knows how to box, based on his experience of two professional fights.
