There have yet to be boxing betting odds released for this bout, but Claressa Shields will be a heavy favorite. Shields is 9-0 with two knockouts in her professional career, and she is one of seven boxers in the last two decades to simultaneously hold all four major titles at the same time. Habazin is 20-3 with five wins by knockout in her 10-year boxing career.

To those unfamiliar with betting on boxing, let’s assume that Shields is a -1000 favorite in this bout. That means you would have to bet $1000 on Shields to win $100 in profit. That would likely make Habazin close to a +700 underdog per the boxing betting odds, so a $100 bet on the Croatian fighter would return $700 if she were to pull off the upset.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Claressa Shields vs. Ivana Habazin Preview

Shields has had a storied career despite being just 24. As an amateur, she won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics in the middleweight division at the age of 17, and she followed that up with a gold medal at the 2014 World Championships in South Korea. In 2016, she doubled up on her golds by claiming the top spot in the middleweight division once again, winning at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2016 World Championships in Kazakhstan.

After such an outstanding amateur career, she turned professional in November 2016. Shields won a unanimous decision in her first fight and won her next two bouts easily to earn a shot at the WBC and IBF Super Middleweight belts. She had no problem with reigning champion Nikki Adler, dropping her to the canvas in the fifth round to win by TKO and retained the belts a few months later with a unanimous decision victory over Tori Nelson.

Following those easy wins, Shields moved down to Middleweight and defeated Hanna Gabriel for the WBA and IBF Middleweight titles, and she added the WBC strap after beating Hannah Rankin. T-Rex retained those titles against Femke Hermans before becoming the undisputed Middleweight champion in April after beating Christina Hammer.

Habazin won her first 10 fights in the Balkans before stepping outside the region to face Eva Bajic for the IBF Welterweight belt in March 2013. She lost that fight by unanimous decision but won the strap the very next year by beating Sabrina Giuliani by split decision. Habazin lost a unification match with Cecilia Braekhus by unanimous decision in September 2014, and she lost her next title opportunity in April 2016, falling to Mikaela Lauren by TKO in the third round.

Since that defeat, Habazin has won five straight bouts. She claimed the IBO Middleweight belt in March 2018, and the Croatian avenged her first loss in her last bout, beating Bajic in Croatia.
