MLB National League Pennant Betting
National League Pennant odds for 2024 have the top two teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves, and a live darkhorse in the Philadelphia Phillies, and then everyone else. The Dodgers made the biggest noise in the off-season adding Shohei Ohtani, Japanese pitching ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow. The Dodgers have committed a billion dollars to superstar players and anything less than a World Series title will not be acceptable. It should be noted, however, that in the last 35 years the Dodgers have won as many World Series titles as the Royals, Reds, Nationals and Diamondbacks.

As frustrating as it has been for the Dodgers, the Braves are even more frustrated of late. They have had the best team in the National League the past two seasons and yet they can’t get past the Philadelphia Phillies in the playoffs. The Braves made a couple of additions getting Chris Sale from the Red Sox and Jarred Kelenic from the Mariners, but Atlanta was already really good. The Braves are loaded once again, but regular season success will mean nothing for Atlanta if they don’t win in the playoffs.
The Phillies made the World Series two years ago and lost to the Houston Astros and last year they somehow lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Championship Series. Everything was in place for the Phillies to win the National League Pennant a year ago and win the World Series and yet they choked against the Diamondbacks. The Phillies have basically the same roster as a year ago, so there is no reason they can’t contend again.
After the top three teams you can basically throw a net around the next seven or eight teams. The Diamondbacks have the next lowest NL Pennant odds, but whether Arizona can duplicate last year’s run is in question but they did add Eduardo Rodriguez to their rotation. The Cubs signed lefty Shota Imanaga so there is some hope Chicago will be a contender this season. The Reds seem to do a lot of things well and in the NL Central they can contend. The Cardinals added Sonny Gray, Kyle Gibson and Lance Lynn while the Brewers will hope that losing Corbin Burnes doesn’t end their chances. The Padres might bounce back this season after disappointing their fans last season after a ton of off-season hype, but losing Juan Soto hurts. The Mets will need their rotation to surprise if they are to contend and Miami has to make up for the loss of Sandy Alcantara. Perhaps the San Franciscos Giants can be the surprise team this season. They added Jorge Soler to the lineup and Robbie Ray to the rotation. In the hopeless category are the Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies.
