World Boxing Council Interim Middleweight Title

Jermall Charlo is the current World Boxing Council interim middleweight champion and previously held the Intonational Boxing Federation junior middleweight champion from 2015 to 2017. He is currently ranked as the world’s fourth best active middleweight.

Charlo is 29 years old and resides in Houston, Texas. In fact, he is a native Texan from Richmond. Charlo stands at six feet tall with a reach of 73.5 inches and fights from an orthodox stance. He has posted 21 knockouts in 28 career wins and has never suffered a loss or a draw. Also known as “Hit Man” he has never lost a title defense bout in four previous tries.

Charlo won the interim World Boxing Council world middleweight title on April 21, 2018 when he defeated Hugo Centeno Jr. by knockout in the second round of a 12-round fight. The title bout took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

On December 22, 2018 Charlo defended his title belt for the first and only time so far. The opponent was Matvey Korobov and the venue was again the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Charlo scored a unanimous decision win to retain his belt.

Brandon Adams is best known as the winner of The Contender Season 5 as he clinched the title against Shane Mosley Jr. He is currently ranked sixth in the world for the middleweight division.

Brandon Adams is 29 years old and is a native of Lynwood California that currently resides in Lynwood, CA. “The Cannon” stands at five feet, nine inches tall with a reach of 70 inches and fights from an orthodox stance. He has posted 13 knockouts in his 21 wins while suffering one knockout out of his two career losses.

In his last fight on November 9, 2018, Adams met Shane Mosley at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Adams prevailed in a 10-round unanimous decision win as Mosely was cut in the left eye accidentally by a seventh round headbutt. This is the first time that Adams has ever fought for a world championship.
