Callum Smith has yet to lose a professional fight, so it’s no surprise that he is a massive favorite over John Ryder per the boxing betting odds. It’s been over a year and a half since Smith was last given a real test, but Ryder is out to change that.

To those unfamiliar with betting on boxing, you would have to bet $1500 on Smith to win $100 at these boxing odds. However, if you’re feeling squirrely and believe that Ryder is a live dog, a $100 bet on the underdog would earn you $950 for your bold prediction and bragging rights.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

WBA Super Middleweight Championship

Experts consider Callum Smith one of the best boxers in the world. He is rated the best super middleweight by three different publications, and one of the top ten pound for pound boxers in the sport today. Smith has an impressive boxing pedigree as his three older brothers were all boxers, and that has served him well throughout his professional career.

Smith became a professional boxer seven years ago. He quickly earned recognition as a fighter after earning six straight first-round knockouts in the span of eight months, and he stepped into the spotlight by winning the World Boxing Super Series last year.

Those bouts tested Callum Smith more than any others to date. Smith went the distance with Erik Skoglund and Nieky Holzken, beating both boxers by unanimous decision to advance to the final against George Groves. That took place in Saudi Arabia, and Smith knocked out Groves in the seventh round to win the World Boxing Super Series, and he also claimed the WBA Super Middleweight Belt with the victory. Smith defeated challenger Hassam N’Dam N’Jikam in the third round by TKO in June in his first title defense.

John Ryder is a seasoned fighter with a respectable track record, but this will be his toughest bout to date. Ryder won his first 15 fights before losing to Billy Joe Saunders by unanimous decision in his first title shot back in September 2013. He won his next five fights to set up a second title bout, but he lost that won too, falling to Nick Blackwell by way of TKO in the seventh round.

The challenger lost to Jack Arnfield and Rocky Fielding as well, but he has looked sharp in his last four fights. Ryder has won all those fights by knockout inside of seven rounds, and three of those knockouts came in the first five rounds.
