Fans of the Nebraska Cornhuskers will hope the ghosts of Mike Riley’s past didn’t follow him to Lincoln after the Oregon Ducks routinely beat his Beavers into submission just about every passing season he held the head coaching position in Corvallis. He dropped seven straight to the Ducks before bolting for the land of corn, and will now get a shot at wiping the slate clean in leading his new team to a huge Week 3 win.This contest in Week 3 of the regular season will go down Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium.... 

While the Michigan Wolverines cruised to their second straight blowout win and cover of the season last week, there were some glaring inefficiencies in their overall body of work. They’ll look to rectify those issues in Week 3 against what’s proven to be a game Colorado Buffaloes side that’s gotten out to the program’s best start since 2013 in hopes of attaining its first winning record since 2005. Staying undefeated against Michigan will be its toughest test of the young season.... 

FCS teams never truly have a shot at taking down FBS opponents, but that simply isn’t the case with the North Dakota State Bison who enter this Week 3 tilt against the Iowa Hawkeyes owners of five national championships and the FCS’s No. 1 ranking. Should the Hawkeyes be in letdown made after throttling Iowa State to win the Cy-Hawk Trophy last week, the Bison would be more than happy to hand them a crippling defeat.This contest in Week 3 of the regular season will go down Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 12 p.m. ET at Kinnick Stadium.... 

Everyone concentrated on what the Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the NFL draft after last season. But they have shown there is plenty of talent that returned. Star quarterback J.T. Barrett has kickstarted an impressive two-game start, and the Buckeyes can really make a statement in Week 3.They will head to Norman to face off with the Oklahoma Sooners in a showdown of top-15 programs. Oklahoma and Ohio State are two of the most decorated teams in the country and this will be one of the most-watched games of the weekend. The Sooners lost to ranked Houston in their opener and will try to avoid another defeat before conference play.... 

The Georgia Bulldogs are 2-0 coming into Week 3. Just barely. The Bulldogs survived a close one against Nicholls State last week, fending off a late comeback attempt by their Southland Conference opponent to win 26-24.Georgia will look for a much more solid performance this week on the road against the Missouri Tigers, who come into this contest at 1-1.... 

The No. 12 Michigan State Spartans are used to being written off. Year after year, the experts underestimate Mark Dantonio and his Spartans and most of the time these experts are eating their words by the end of the season. Sparty will get the chance to again prove the doubters wrong if it gets through a tough four-game stretch starting this Saturday against the No. 18 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This is one of the best primetime games in Week 3 of college football.... 

For the second straight season, the No. 23 Florida Gators started off with lowered expectations only to have those quickly raised following wins against less than stellar opponents. Despite struggling in the first week against UMass, a dominant win against a Kentucky team that has quit on Mark Stoops has propelled the Gators into the Top 25. The Gators now get a chance to pad that ranking in College Football Week 3 against one of the worst programs in football, the North Texas Mean Green.... 

Things are looking up for both the Maryland Terrapins and the UCF Knights this season. UCF is already guaranteed to have a better season in 2016 than it did after finishing last year winless and the Terps are just one win away from matching last season’s win total. That has led to excitement from both fanbases about new coaches Scott Frost and DJ Durkin and dreams of bowl appearances. The winner of this Week 3 College Football showdown will move that dream closer to a reality.... 

Even if the game is being played on a different continent, any time the Boston College Eagles take the field, it’s a race to see who can get to 20 points first. Boston College was one of the best under teams in history last season and once again looks like a team that will play a lot of close low-scoring games. In College Football Week 3, the Eagles will take on the one team outside of Clemson that scored more than 20 points on them in 2015, the Virginia Tech Hokies.... 

You certainly can’t accuse the Northern Illinois Huskies of not wanting to play anyone in non-conference play. The Huskies have already traveled to take on Wyoming and South Florida and will now test their fortunes against the team that was the best in the Mountain West last season. The San Diego State Aztecs haven’t squared off against the Huskies since way back in 1971 but will face them in College Football Week 3 action.... 

The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide visit the No. 19 Mississippi Rebels on Saturday in a game that can be seen on CBS. Both teams are coming off cakewalks last week as Alabama routed Western Kentucky while Mississippi rolled over Wofford. The Crimson Tide will be very motivated for this Week 3 matchup as the Rebels handed them their only loss of the season a year ago. Alabama is listed as a 9.5-point road favorite in this game.... 

The Penn State Nittany Lions will try and bounce back from last week’s loss to Pittsburgh as they host the Temple Owls in Week 3 action on Saturday. It is a key game for Penn State head coach James Franklin who is trying to show that he has the Nittany Lions headed in the right direction. It is also a revenge game for Penn State as they were beaten by Temple 27-10 last season. It may not be easy for the Nittany Lions against a Temple team coming off a 38-0 win over Stony Brook, the first shuto... 

The Memphis Tigers are big home favorites on Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks in a contest that can be seen on ESPN U. The Jayhawks come into this game at 1-1 while the Tigers are 1-0. Kansas looked really good in Week 1 as they routed Rhode Island but they were brought back to earth last week in a loss to Ohio. On the other side, the Tigers rolled over SE Missouri State in their opener and then they had a bye last week. Memphis is listed as nearly a three-touchdown favorite in this Week 3 m... 

Just a decade ago, who would have believed that the Miami Hurricanes would be traveling to Boone, NC for a non-conference game? That’s how far Miami has fallen since joining the ACC. However, there is legitimate optimism for the first time this decade after the Hurricanes brought in Mark Richt to be the new sheriff down in Miami. Richt and the Canes will have their first real test in College Football Week 3 when they face the Appalachian State Mountaineers.... 

An upset over North Carolina State has caught the nation’s attention and the East Carolina Pirates are looking for an encore performance, this time on the road. Can the Pirates provide back-to-back upset wins and topple the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 3 or is that too much to ask? East Carolina was helped out last week by some crucial mistakes. They’ve certainly got a strong offense to make the Gamecocks’ lives difficult, but is the defense strong enough to hold? Probably not, but this could still be an exciting game to watch.... 

The Pittsburgh Panthers head into this Week 3 showdown in Stillwater against the Oklahoma State Cowboys undefeated after a big win this weekend against Penn State while the Cowboys dropped their week 2 game against Central Michigan in a major upset.... 

Doc Holliday just keeps winning football games. The Marshall Thundering Herd have now had three straight double-digit win seasons under his helm and anyone that thought the team would fall back into mediocrity after the loss of Rakeem Cato has been mistaken. Now Marshall will attempt to get its second win, and cover, of the season when the Akron Zips head to Huntington for a Week 3 college football showdown.Kickoff for this Week 3 game is set for Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12 p.m. ET at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. This game will be broadcast on CBSS.... 

Everything you think you know about college football through two weeks is about set to change. Each of the Top 3 teams in America are on the road this weekend, and it would take a brave man to suggest that all three are going to end up with zeroes in their loss column by the time the week is said and done with since they're all playing against teams ranked in the Top 20. Throw in another eight of the Top 25 going away from home, and you've got the makings of a weekend where everything is surely going to change.... 

The Arizona State Sun Devils are off to a strong start after a disappointing 2015. The offense has been on fire to start the season, averaging 56 points per game and has carried the way for this team. Before starting play in the grueling PAC-12, Todd Graham and his Sun Devils have one more opponent on the schedule and are expected to roll despite it being a road game. Their foe in College Football Week 3 will be the UTSA Roadrunners.... 

It hasn’t been a great way to start to the season for the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The perennial Sun Belt contender has been blown out by Toledo and Auburn in its first two games and its offense has been unable to get on track. Now the Red Wolves face another difficult test before starting conference play when they travel all the way out to Logan, Utah where they will face another quality mid-major team in the Utah State Aggies in Week 3 College Football action.... 

One of the most important games of the season in the ACC takes place on Saturday as the No. 2 Florida State Seminoles visit the No. 10 Louisville Cardinals in a Week 3 matchup on ABC. The Seminoles are in position to make the College Football Playoff if they win this game as their only other tough game is against Clemson and that one is in Tallahassee. On the other side, the Louisville Cardinals are unbeaten at 2-0 and led by an offense that is averaging 66 points per game, best in the country.... 

The Tennessee Volunteers will try and avoid a letdown on Saturday as they host the Ohio Bobcats on SEC Network. The Volunteers survived against Appalachian State in their opener and then last week Tennessee defeated Virginia Tech 45-24 in front of the biggest crowd in NCAA football history, 156,990 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Vols will have to avoid overlooking Ohio in this Week 3 matchup on Saturday.... 

The TCU Horned Frogs will look to bounce back after losing in double overtime last week to Arkansas as they host the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday on FS1. This Week 3 matchup has the Horned Frogs listed as 22.5-point favorites. Iowa State has looked like one of the worst teams in the country so far this season as they lost to FCS foe Northern Iowa in their opener and then last week they were blown off the field by the Iowa Hawkeyes, losing 42-3. TCU comes into this game at 1-1 with a win over ... 

It was ugly, but the No. 21 Baylor Bears put another game in the win column last week after surprisingly struggling in the first half against an SMU team that gave the Bears a much better game than expected. Still, the offense came through when it needed to and now it’s time for the Bears to go on the road for the first time all season. Baylor will square off against the Rice Owls in what should be a Week 3 college football blowout.... 

The Houston Cougars are riding high. Houston is up to No. 6 in the polls and that should mean a spot in the College Football Playoff if it runs the table. The Cougars are looking to become the first mid-major team to win it all in the modern era and Tom Herman has the team humming on all cylinders. They will face their first road test in College Football Week 3 when they have to travel to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in what very well could be a preview of the AAC Title Game....
