Last week, my total plays went 2-2. The under in Boston College and Temple never had a chance, and Central Florida’s defense completely shut down Pittsburgh’s offense to keep that game from going over the total. In the two wins, I was a bit fortunate in the Texas Tech and West Virginia game as the under cashed by a scant 1.5 points, but I was dead on with the under in Mississippi State and Florida. Last week’s picks went 3-1 ATS with Tulane winning outright as a two-touchdown underdog, Washington easily covering the number against BYU, and Kansas State erasing a 19-point deficit to get within the spread against Texas. Week five was among the best and most exciting so far of the 2018 college football season. Gamblers again had their ups and downs as the question of value was paramount. The Penn State Nittany Lions painful home loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes was of no problem for PSU backers as the home dog still got the money. The Alabama Crimson Tide once again steamrolled an opponent but proved to be an overlay in the process. The Georgia Bulldogs also proved to be an overlay in their win over the Tennessee... 

Week 6 college football action begins with an appetizer from the American Athletic Conference with one of that league’s top favorites against a struggling road dog that faces oblivion before the season even reaches the halfway point. With impressive resurgence after a disappointing week one loss to the Maryland Terrapins the Texas Longhorns are catching attention and respect, especially with a defense that is among the most improved in the country. Week six includes what could be one of the top games all season thus far as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are flashing championship form since changing quarterbacks while the Virginia Tech Hokies got back on track in a most impressive win last week at Duke after a humiliating loss at Old Dominion two weeks ago that they may never totally live down. Two teams on opposite ends of the SEC West spectrum are set to tangle in a Week 6 matchup with the nation’s top-ranked team playing in only its second true road game of the season. The Alabama Crimson Tide kept its standing as the No. 1 ranked team with yet another blowout win, a 56-14 thrashing of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Tide opened as a 34-point favorite against the Arkansas Razorbacks, a lofty number but considering Bama’s starters have yet to finish a game, there could be some money to win ... 

If you didn’t live in Utah, you probably wouldn’t know that the rivalry between the Utah State Aggies and BYU Cougars is one of the low-key fiercest non-conference rivalry games in the country. Utah State fans troll BYU by calling the school BYU-P or BYU-Provo, while BYU fans counter by pointing to their national championship and overall success. This will be the 88^th meeting between the schools, and Utah State will look to win The Old Wagon Wheel for the second straight year.... 

It’s the 10-year anniversary of one of the “greatest” games in college football history. On September 13, 2008, the Auburn Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs met in Starkville in each team’s SEC opener. Neither offense could produce much despite fine weather, and Auburn ended up beating Mississippi State 3-2. More points should be in store when these schools meet this year, as Gus Malzahn and Joe Moorhead are two of the sharpest offensive minds in the game....

Week four had its share of college football betting revelations and bad beats as well as thrilling victories. According to coach Kirby Smart, the Dogs didn’t play very well last week, and they still won by two touchdowns, which tells us something about the state of the program. This is a great chance for Jeremy Pruitt to reward Phil Fulmer for his trust. Pruitt was at least the Tennessee Volunteers sixth choice to be their next head coach, and there are many around the program who still wonder whether or not he was the right pick. Fulmer seemed to settle on Pruitt just to end the nightmare that Tennessee’s coaching search had become, and the new coach is not in the most comfortable situation. The South Carolina Gamecocks are ready to get back on the field. After cancelling last week’s game with Marshall due to Hurricane Florence, the team is looking to respond by getting a win for their fans. However, that won’t come easy. They will be travelling to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 4 of the season, and Vandy is coming off of a tough loss. Vandy came close to knocking off a top ten Notre Dame team last week, so South Carolina better be prepared.... 

Scott Frost certainly didn’t expect his tenure with the Nebraska Cornhuskers to begin like this. Nebraska was thought to have won the offseason by landing the highly sought after coach after leading UCF to a share of the national championship, but his return to Lincoln has gotten off to a rocky start. The Cornhuskers are sitting at 0-2 entering Big Ten play, and there is a good chance they miss out on bowl season yet again. They are staring down the barrel of 0-3 as they travel to face the Michigan Wolverines in Week 4 of the college football season. ...
