On balance Paul Johnson has had a decent run as head coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. But since peaking with an 11-3 record and Orange Bowl championship in 2014 the program has deteriorated and is no longer a serious Atlantic Coast Conference title contender. Since that ACC Coastal Division championship season Johnson’s teams have gone 3-9, 9-4, and 5-6 last year. So far, the Ramblin’ Wreck has stumbled out of the gate at 1-2 and the already fickle Yellow Jacket fans are out of patience...

Week Four of college football kicks off with an interesting matchup of up and down teams. The Temple Owls were winless until their stunning upset of Maryland last week at College Park. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane nearly upset the Longhorns at Texas but were less than impressive in a loss last week to Arkansas State. Both teams have shown ability for both big seasons and bad ones in the past few years. All of which makes this American Athletic Conference matchup a challenging handicap. ...

No, this isn’t a misprint. The Miami Hurricanes, not the Miami RedHawks, will be heading north to take on the Toledo Rockets in Week 3 of the college football season. This is a tricky game for the Hurricanes. Toledo is one of the best Group of Five teams in the nation, and the program has consistently been a regional power in the MAC for almost all of this decade. If Miami isn’t careful, they could lose this one and fall to 1-2 on the year. ... 

While most games all throughout the Carolinas were cancelled or moved due to Hurricane Florence, as of Wednesday afternoon it looks like the Clemson Tigers are still going to host the Georgia Southern Eagles in Week 3. Clemson is a massive favorite per the CFB betting odds in this one and anything other than a blowout would be a disappointment considering Georgia Southern went 2-10 in 2017. The Eagles have already matched last year’s two wins this season though....
