The Arizona Wildcats have one of the most dynamic players in college football at quarterback. The Purdue Boilermakers have a top-shelf defense. Something will have to give when these teams face off in the Foster Farms Bowl in late December.... 

The bowl season is known for entertaining contests between teams that don’t usually meet, and the Pinstripe Bowl could feature that this year. The Iowa Hawkeyes and Boston College Eagles are from different conferences but seem pretty even in talent level as they prepare to face off in this postseason showdown.... 

The Florida State Seminoles have now broken the record for most consecutive seasons with a bowl appearance. FSU’s win over Louisiana-Monroe on December 2 gave it the magical sixth win it needed to get into bowl season and now the Seminoles have been bowling for 36 straight seasons. Now, another potential record is in their sights. FSU has posted a winning record in 40 straight years. The Seminoles need a win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to get to 7-6 and extend that streak.... 

The Toledo Rockets have been the most consistent team in the MAC this decade, but had yet to win the MAC Championship before this season. They erased all that heartache in a big way, hammering Akron in the MAC Championship Game 45-28 and claiming their first MAC tile in 13 years. Now, they will look to notch a 12-win season, when they take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers, a team they are familiar with from a bowl game in the Yellowhammer State last year.... 

The Army Black Knights have had their most successful season in two decades and are looking to win 10 games for just the second time in school history. Army is sitting at 9-3 and only one of the losses was uncompetitive, a 38-7 drubbing at the hands of Ohio State.... 

For the second straight season, Craig Bohl has taken the Wyoming Cowboys to a bowl game. The former North Dakota State head coach was seen as a home run hire for the Cowboys and has turned this program after a couple transition seasons. He is now looking to win his first bowl game ever and his Cowboys are slight favorites to do so. The Central Michigan Chippewas won’t be a pushover though.... 

Charlie Strong had a pretty successful season in his first year as head coach of the South Florida Bulls. South Florida had been one of the rising stars in the AAC under Willie Taggart and Strong was able to keep the momentum going with a 9-2 record. Now, he will attempt to lead the Bulls to their second straight season with 10 or more wins. They will need to beat Kliff Kingsbury’s Texas Tech Red Raiders in order to get there.... 

It looks like we will get at least one more chance to see Josh Rosen at the collegiate level. Rosen, the quarterback that should be the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has returned to practice and looks like he will actually play in the Cactus Bowl for the UCLA Bruins. He has been lights out this season and pretty much willed the team to the postseason on his own. A back injury knocked him out of the season finale against Cal, but he returned to practice last week and appears set to play against the Kansas State Wildcats.... 

David Cutcliffe has done it again. Cutcliffe has now taken the Duke Blue Devils to a bowl game in five of the last six seasons and will look to pick up his second bowl win at Duke. The Blue Devils are favorites to knock off the Northern Illinois Huskies, another team who has struggled in bowl season. Northern Illinois missed out on a bowl last season, but lost four straight bowl games from 2012-2015 and three of those losses were by at least three touchdowns.... 

The Florida Atlantic Owls are the biggest favorite of bowl season. Lane Kiffin’s offense has been virtually unstoppable this season and the Owls are looking to cap their season off the right way. Florida Atlantic already won the Conference USA Title and now the Owls have a chance to cap off their best season ever with a bowl win at home. Their opponent will be the Akron Zips, the MAC East Champion who has surprised teams and experts all season long.... 

The inaugural Frisco Bowl should be well attended considering the proximity of the two teams involved. The SMU Mustangs are happy to be bowling again. SMU was considered a dumpster fire after the way June Jones left the program a few seasons ago, but has rebounded quite nicely and finished 7-5. A bowl victory would be the cherry on top of a successful season. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will try to make sure that doesn’t happen.... 

The Ohio Bobcats continue to be a solid team under Frank Solich even though they have yet to win a MAC Championship. Ohio had one of its best teams yet of the Solich era this season, but closed out the year with a thud and now has a heap of injuries heading into this game. As for the UAB Blazers, it’s been a storybook season. UAB was not only competitive in its first year back playing football, but finished the season with an 8-4 record and nearly played for the Conference USA Championship. Now, Bill Clark is hoping to give UAB a proper sendoff.... 

It was a tale of two seasons for the Temple Owls. It looked like Temple was going to have a long season under first year head coach Geoff Collins in the month of September. The Owls were blown out by Notre Dame and South Florida and struggled to get past both Villanova and Massachusetts. However, Collins was able to get this team to respond and the Owls ended up making a bowl after winning three of their last four. Now, he is looking to secure a winning record when his team takes on the Florida International Golden Panthers.... 

It’s been a great turnaround season for Jeff Tedford and the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were a train wreck last season and failed to win a game against an FBS opponent. That led to Tim DeRuyter getting replaced by Tedford and he has instantly brought respectability back to the program. In his first season on the job, the Bulldogs usurped San Diego State to win the MWC’s West Division and although they lost to Boise State in the MWC Championship Game, it was still a very nice year. They will look to get one more win when they take on the Houston Cougars on Christmas Eve.... 

Kyle Whittingham is one of the longest tenured head coaches in college football at this point. He helped steer the Utah Utes from the Mountain West to the PAC 12 and has kept this program viable in a tougher conference. Whittingham also boasts the best bowl record of any coach with at least 10 bowl appearances. He is 10-1 in bowls since becoming head coach of Utah with the one loss coming when Utah was a 17-point underdog to Boise State. Whittingham will look to make the West Virginia Mountaineers win number 11.... 

The Marshall Thundering Herd had one of the stingier defenses in college football this season, but that unit will be put to the test when the team takes on the Colorado State Rams. These two foes are meeting in the New México Bowl in mid-December.... 

The Oregon Ducks have more talented than their foe in the Las Vegas Bowl, the Boise State Broncos. But will they have the focus? Oregon’s program is reeling after coach Willie Taggart departed last week to take over as the new coach of Florida State. Taggart was only with the Ducks for one season and the program must start a search for a new coach.... 

The mid-December contest is interesting because these teams are pretty unfamiliar with each other. Arkansas State has a high-powered offense and it remains to be seen if Middle Tennessee State can keep it in check. The Red Wolves are the favorites in this game although not by an overwhelming margin, so an upset by the Blue Raiders certainly isn’t out of the question.... 

The North Texas Mean Green failed to win their first conference championship since 2004, but will get a pretty nice consolation prize. North Texas will get to travel to the Big Easy to take part in the New Orleans Bowl and will face a familiar foe. The Troy Trojans are back to being one of the best teams in the Sun Belt, and both fanbases will remember some of the epic battles between these two schools in the 2000s. That should create a very exciting atmosphere for our first college bowl game.... 

The Celebration Bowl has served as the de facto HBCU national championship for the last couple seasons and this year’s edition might be the most highly anticipated ever. Rather than send their conference winners across the country during the FCS Playoffs, the MEAC and the SWAC decided to have their historic conferences establish an HBCU national championship and it has been a hotly contested affair. The North Carolina A&T Aggies won the first Celebration Bowl in 2015, but the Grambling Tigers won this game last season. Now, these two will square off with a lot on the line in the third Celebration Bowl.... 

Army comes into this matchup with a record of 8-3, and looking to get back in the winning column after falling to North Texas last week. Navy opened the season with five straight wins but has gone 1-5 in its last six games. The Black Knights have put together a nice season but are still the slight underdogs in this matchup.... 

It’s almost an annual tradition at this point. For the third straight year, the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide will square off in the College Football Playoff. Unlike the last two seasons, this time it will be a semifinal instead of a final, but that doesn’t make the game any less important in the eyes of the fans. Alabama lost the CFP National Championship last season to Deshaun Watson and the Tigers because of a last-second touchdown, but came out on top the year before even thoug... 

Before the College Football Playoffs begin, we will have a little bit of an appetizer. The nation’s only undefeated team will get to take center stage for the first time all season. The Central Florida Knights didn’t get any respect from the selection committee, but can gain a heap if they win on Monday afternoon. Their opponent will be the Auburn Tigers, a team that played Clemson close, and beat both Alabama and Georgia.... 

This year, we are going to have a jam-packed slate of college football to celebrate the new year. The New Year’s Six games will kick off early when the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the USC Trojans in Jerry’s World in the suburbs of Dallas. It’s been eight years since these teams last squared off which is a little curious since both have long dominated their conferences and you would have expected they met in a Rose Bowl at some point this decade. The winner of this game will likely finish in the top five of the final AP poll and that will give them something to build on for next season.... 

For the first time in over a decade, the Miami Hurricanes will be playing in a major bowl. Although it ended with a thud, it’s been a dream season for the Hurricanes, who will get to enjoy the sun and the surf in a home game in the Orange Bowl. The Wisconsin Badgers will be their opponent and will enjoy getting away from the chill in Madison. These teams haven’t met since they squared off in the Champs Sports Bowl back in 2009, a game that the Badgers won 20-14....
