Oklahoma Sooners vs. Alabama Crimson Tide - Orange Bowl Lines

The Alabama Crimson Tide will begin its quest to win another national championship with a Semifinal Matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners. Even though Alabama almost lost to Georgia in the SEC championship game, that isn’t making the oddsmakers doubt them much in this one.

Alabama has been the best team in the country all year and will be a substantial favorite to capture this matchup and advance to the national title game. The Sooners barely beat out Georgia and Ohio State for the final spot in the College Football Playoff and are hoping to prove the committee made a good decision.

This is expected to be a wild game with a bunch of points, so it should be a fun one to watch in NCAA football betting lines.

This NCAA football game between the Oklahoma Sooners and Alabama Crimson Tide will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida at 8 p.m ET on December 29th, 2018. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Injury Report

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sprained his ankle in the SEC Championship game and left the contest. He reportedly had surgery on the injury but is only expected to miss two weeks. That would get him back in plenty of time to be ready for this game.

The Crimson Tide really hopes to have Tagovailoa, who is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. He has thrown for 3,353 yards with 37 touchdowns and four interceptions on the year. Backup Jalen Hurts, Alabama’s former starter, stepped in at the end of the game against Georgia and led his team to the victory.

The Crimson Tide probably has the most talented backup quarterback in college football but would rather he stayed on the sideline for this one.

Player To Watch

Kyler Murray -- The Oklahoma quarterback has had a fantastic season. He has thrown for 4,053 yards and 40 touchdowns against only seven interceptions. Murray has also been lethal with his legs, carrying the ball 123 times for 892 yards and 11 more scores.

Alabama has a dominant defense, and Oklahoma’s best chance to move the ball may come when Murray freelances and makes plays with his legs. If he has a bad game Oklahoma has no chance at winning this matchup.

Murray was a first-round pick in baseball but now he is reportedly wondering whether the NFL will be an option. A good performance against Alabama could make it an even tougher decision.

Free NCAA Football ATS Picks

The Crimson Tide is the pick to win this game, but the spread looks a little bit too high. Oklahoma’s offense is good enough to stay within striking distance and will cover. Alabama has dominated a lot of teams this year but has also had some close calls of late and Oklahoma is nearly as talented as anyone the Crimson Tide has played this year.

The “under” is the pick as there will be enough stops that this one doesn’t become comical on the scoreboard in NCAA football wagering.
