UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs Melendez Betting OddsUFC Betting Online: FOX Sports is back with yet another MMA event on the UFC betting odds on Saturday, April 20th. This is the seventh edition of the UFC on FOX, and it will be held at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

The showcase match is for the Lightweight Championship, and it pits the defending champ, Benson Henderson against Gilbert Melendez, who is the Strikeforce Lightweight champ. This is a tremendous promotional bout with some real bragging lines in addition to a belt being on the line.

The turning point in Henderson's career came back in 2009 against Donald Cerrone. The match went the five-round distance and was decided by unanimous decision. Not only was the bout the Fight of the Night to give him the WEC Lightweight Championship, but it was also the Fight of the Year. A year later, Henderson lost the Fight of the Year against Anthony Pettis, though by this point, he had clearly established himself as a lethal competitor that is always worthy of being backed on the UFC gambling odds.

Since the loss to Pettis, Henderson has been on fire, winning six straight matches. He won the UFC Lightweight Championship last February against Frankie Edgar, and since then, he has defended the belt against Edgar and Nate Diaz.

Melendez is a tricky fighter to top though, and this should make for a remarkable bout. The Mexican American has won seven straight bouts, including winning the Strikeforce Lightweight Championship from Josh Thompson, and then defending it four times. This is the first time that he has highlighted a card as good as this one in his career, though.

The aforementioned Diaz and Thompson are also going to be fighting against each other in the Lightweight Division, and it wouldn't be all that surprising if the winner of that bout ended up getting a fight against the winner of the Henderson vs. Melendez tussle in the near future.

Frank Mir has showcased his share of UFC bouts, but now that he is in the tail end of his career, he is going to have a shot at taking down Daniel Cormier at UFC on FOX 9. This is the debut fight for Cormier at the UFC level after going a perfect 11-0 in Strikeforce and other lower divisions of MMA.

In the Welterweight Division, Dan Hardy and Matt Brown are expected to start off the main card.

Prior to the main event though, there are expected to be at least five fights. Three of those fights come in the Lightweight Division. Ramsey Nijem and Myles Jury will have it out on the UFC wagering odds, while Tim Means and Jorge Masvidal will take to the octagon as well. Elsewhere in the Lightweight Division, Anthony Njokuani and Roger Bowling will square off. Middleweights Clifford Starks and Yoel Romero are scheduled to fight in the undercard, while Francisco Rivera and Huge Viana will renew ties when they war in the Bantamweight Division.
