It seems like Demetrious Johnson is going to be out for a while. Though there were rumors that he’d meet bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw in a superfight for the flyweight belt, Dana White recently told the LA Times that Mighty Mouse is injured and rehabbing. Currently on a 15-fight win streak, “Mighty Mouse” has said he hopes to return for International Fight Week in July.
Fighters to Watch
We can’t think of a single flyweight contender who would remotely be a challenge to the pound-for-pound king. Joe Benavidez is still the No. 1 contender, and DJ’s beaten him twice. Ray Borg just had his shot and got trucked over. Henry Cejudo got blasted so quickly that it’s tough to see him getting another shot any time soon. Is there anyone ready to step up? Anyone? Anyone?
