A women’s bout between Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez will headline UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs. Rodriguez on Saturday, May 8 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight is a late replacement, as the fight between TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen was postponed because Dillashaw suffered an injury. The main card will be broadcast on ESPN, while the preliminary card will be shown on ESPN+. Also on the card is a lightweight bout between Carlos Diego Ferreira and Gregor Gillespie and a welterweight fight between Neil Magny and Geoff Neal.

Waterson and Rodriguez are strawweights but because the fight was agreed to on short notice they will fight at flyweight. Waterson said she would have made the lower weight if needed. “I can cut the weight. I do think it’s because of short notice, if I had to I would,” Waterson said to the media, “That’s not what they asked me for, they asked me for 125 and I talked to my husband about it and that’s what they asked for so let’s go.”
Another big fight on the card has Carlos Diego Ferreira taking on Gregor Gillespie Ferreira is 17-3 in his career with three wins by knockout and seven by submission, while Gillespie is 13-1 in his career with six knockout wins and five wins by submission.
Another key fight has Neil Magny going against Geoff Neal. Magny is 24-8 with 7 knockout wins and three submissions, while Neal is 13-3 with 8 knockouts and two submissions.
