UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs. Masvidal Betting
UFC Fight Night 147 Till vs. Masvidal takes place on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the O2 Arena in London, UK. The card streams live on ESPN+ starting 3pm ET.
The UFC is headed to England for the first time in 2019, and it’s calling on a native to carry the torch for the island country. Welterweight contender Darren Till, coming off a bad title challenge to Tyron Woodley, will look to bounce back against former backyard brawler Jorge Masvidal in the main event of an excellent overseas card.
Get ready for a fun buildup. Both Till and Masvidal are trash talkers, and we’re looking forward to seeing hearing Till’s Scouser accent matched up with Masvidal’s hood attitude. There should be plenty of bleeps at press conferences since each is outspoken and says whatever comes to mind. In Masvidal’s case, his favorite insult seems to be “ho”.
It’s also just an awesome stylistic scrap. Till is a bruising kickboxer, while Masvidal is a slick boxer. These are high-level strikers here, and about as fan-friendly as it gets.
Also on the card is Leon Edwards, another welterweight who has been steadily creeping up the rankings. He’ll meet Gunnar Nelson, a submission specialist and training partner to Conor McGregor. A win for Edwards could cement a meeting with a legit contender, depending on how he does it.
Volkan Oezdemir had has moment in 2017, but two losses in 2018 stopped his Cinderella story. He does not get an easy fight, as the undefeated Dominick Reyes is looking to use him as a stepping stone to bigger, better things.

UFC Fight Night 147 Betting Lines, Predictions and Picks
It’s a bit surprising how big a favorite Till is, with online oddsmakers writing him in at -275, with Masvidal at +195 on the comeback. Till is a massive welterweight with special striking skills, but Jorge is one of the slickest strikers out there - this is the same guy that pieced up Donal Cerrone and knocked out Jake Ellenberger after all. He’s never been an easy out, though he’ll have to figure out how to counter the thudding kicks of Till.
Leon Edwards has won six straight fights, including impressive victories against Donald Cerrone, Albert Tumenov and Bryan Barberena. Another English fighter, “Rocky” will have the home crowd behind him against Iceland’s Nelson. Though Nelson is best known for being McGregor’s training partner, he’s beaten some very good guys like Alex Oliveira, Alan Jouban and Tumenov. With 13 submission in 17 career victories, Nelson is not a guy you want to roll with, and his Machida-like karate striking can be tough to figure out.
More Dominick Reyes, please. The former NFL hopeful has been beasting in the UFC, with knockouts of Jeremy Kimball and Jared Cannonier in addition to a decision win over Ovince St. Preux. He’s an elite athlete with excellent size at 6’4”, and at 29 “The Devastator” could be in line for big things at 205 pounds. But Volkan Oezdemir knows a thing or two about rising and falling quickly - plus he’s a heavy hitter in his own right.
