UFC 273: Volkanovski vs. The Korean Zombie Card & Odds

Volkanovski is 23-1 in his career, including 5-0 in his last five fights. He is coming off a unanimous decision win against Brian Ortega in September of last year. Volkanovski won by split decision against Max Holloway in July of 2020, won by unanimous decision against Max Holloway in December of 2019, won by unanimous decision against Jose Aldo in May of 2019, and won by TKO against Chad Mendes in December of 2018. Volkanovski’s only loss in his career was against Corey Nelson by TKO in May of 2013.

Volkanovski is rolling along and he is not expected to have much trouble in this fight against Jung, as oddsmakers have Volkanovski as more than a 5-1 favorite in UFC odds.

Sung Jung is 17-6 in his career, including 3-2 in his last five fights. He is coming off a unanimous decision win against Dan Ige in June of last year. Sung Jung won by TKO against Frankie Edgar in December of 2019, won by TKO against Renato Moicano in June of 2019, lost by unanimous decision against Brian Ortega in October of 2020, and lost by KO against Yair Rodríguez in November of 2018.

Sung Jung is an accomplished fighter but he is going up against a very tough and experienced opponent who has suffered only loss in their career and this is big step up in competition for Jung.

Another big fight has Aljamain Sterling taking on Petr Yan. Sterling is 20-3 in his career with two wins coming by TKO/KO and eight by submission, while Yan is 16-2 in his career with seven wins coming by TKO/KO and one by submission.

Sterling and Yan have faced each other before and that fight ended with disqualification win for Sterling so it should prove to be interesting rematch.

Another key fight has Gilbert Burns facing Khamzat Chimaev. Burns is 20-4 in his career with six wins coming by TKO/KO and eight by submission, while Chimaev is 10-0 in his career with six wins coming by TKO/KO and four by submission.

This fight could be one of the best ones on the card, as Burns has been very good in his career, while Chimaev is unbeaten.
