You can argue all you want, but Amanda Nunes is the greatest women MMA fighter of all time. The Brazilian will never have the starpower of a prime Ronda Rousey (or even Miesha Tate), nor does she match the savage dominance of Cris Cyborg, but her resume is incomparable.

Her current 10-fight winning streak includes six straight bantamweight title defenses. During this run, Lioness thrashed Tate and Rousey so thoroughly that both fighters immediately retired. She also beat current flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko twice - even more impressive considering how far “Bullet” is ahead of her division. Former champion Holly Holm suffered her first career TKO against Nunes.

Most impressively, Nunes needed just 51 seconds to end Cris Cyborg’s 19-fight unbeaten streak - a 12-year reign of terror where Cyborg brutalized her opponents and was never remotely challenged. That 2018 encounter earned Nunes the featherweight title, making her the first women’s double champ in UFC history.

Nunes might not be a big star, but she’s already a first-ballot Hall of Famer. And the scary part is that she’s still in her prime and getting better. Her UFC 250 bout against Felicia Spencer is a sign that Nunes is about to lap the weight class.

This honestly feels like a stay busy fight to keep the 145 pound strap around Amanda’s waist. Spencer is coming off a win over Zarah Fairn dos Santos, and that’s enough to earn a title shot in a division where you can count the number of fighters one one hand.

Garbrandt is the type of good-looking, hard-hitting fighter the UFC loves, so it wouldn’t take long for the 28-year old to climb back into title contention. However, Garbrandt’s puzzling determination to brawl could be his ultimate downfall. He’s certainly got the skill, speed and power to hang with the best in the world, but No Love has to evolve the mental aspect of his game.

Assuncao’s own run at a title shot is on ice courtesy of Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen, but beating a high-profile opponent like Garbrandt would be a huge step in the right direction. The UFC online sportsbook opened with Garbrandt as a moderate -145 favorite, with Assuncao at +115 on the comeback. Expect this to be a heavy firefight, as Garbrandt has shown little else recently besides throwing hard and hoping his hands find a chin. Let’s see if Team Alpha Male can help Garbrandt evolve - fighters seem to hit a hard plateau with the Sacramento fight team.
