UFC 244: Masvidal vs. Diaz Odds

UFC 244 MMA Betting

There are maybe three UFC fighters with the starpower to speak something into existence. Nate Diaz - a former non-needle mover - is one of them. Two classic fights with Conor McGregor elevated an already compelling personality into the mainstream, to the point where he makes appearances on Jimmy Kimmel, while wearing his signature black t-shirt and baggy jeans of course.

UFC 244: Masvidal vs. Diaz Betting

Date: Saturday, November 2nd, 2019

Venue: Madison Square Garden

Location: New York City, New York, USA

After laying a beatdown on Anthony Pettis, West Coast Gangster Nate Diaz called out Dirty South Gangster Jorge Masvidal to fight for a non-existent Bad Motherfu*ker Title. Jorge Masvidal looked thrilled, fans went nuts and Dana White’s eyes morphed into cartoon dollar signs. Just weeks later, White announced that there was indeed a physical BMF belt that cost $50,000 to forge, and it’d be awarded to the winner of the matchup.

Any dreams of a legit street beef between two of the realest guys in the sport was quickly squashed: it’s clear these two respect the hell out of each other. Fans don’t seem to mind though as it’s a compelling battle between two highly skilled fighters. The stakes are much higher than a gimmick belt too: Masvidal is currently the No. 3 fighter in a loaded weight class. The winner could very well fight for the real title - or even reel in a Red Panty Night with Conor McGregor.

Dana White knows that any pay-per-view at MSG has to be big, and the UFC has already booked an excellent supporting cast that includes Kelvin Gastelum, Darren Till, Johnny Walker and Derrick Lewis.

The card is still being filled out, but we’ll keep you updated as more contests get added to the card. Make sure to check in during fight week for in-depth online betting previews. UFC Betting Odds from BookMaker.eu are typically released on Monday before each event - though big fight bookings are usually available much earlier. Live MMA betting is also available to hedge any of your bets as well.

Masvidal is arguably the hottest fighter in the UFC, and it’s not just for his sweet run of iconic knockouts. He’s also dropping some of the best one-liners we’ve ever heard and is pretty much pure gold every time he gets on a mic. Though he’s been around for two decades, Masvidal has never been bigger. Beating Nate Diaz would take him to a whole different level.

That’s a tough task though, as Diaz never gets tired and is almost impossible to knock out. Masvidal is one of the savviest fighters around, and it’ll be tons of fun watching how he navigates against an endless storm of punches. The UFC odds opened with Masvidal as the clear favorite, and we’d expect his line to keep dropping until the opening bell.

Darren Till moves up to middleweight after serious weight cutting issues at 170, and he’s jumping right into the fire with a matchup against Kelvin Gastelum. It wasn’t that long ago that Gastelum gave Israel Adesanya all he could handle. Till is coming off two straight blowout losses - suffering finishes in each - but the thinking here is that he’ll capitalize on his tremendous potential without having to suffer a ghastly weight cut. He needs to look no further than his opponent for affirmation: Gastelum was once a welterweight himself before really taking off at 185 pounds.

Johnny Walker has the swag and personality of a superstar, and he certainly looks the part of a future title contender: 27 years old, 6’5”, shredded and an excellent athlete. The kid has blasted through all three of his UFC opponents in spectacular fashion, but now takes a step up against Corey Anderson, a legitimate gatekeeper to the top tier. If the Brazilian gets through Corey Anderson, a title shot might not be far off.

Derrick Lewis is hands down the UFC’s funniest man, but he hasn’t found much to smile about lately as he’s been finished in two straight fights. His unlikely run to a title shot still has a fluky feel to it, but perhaps he can recapture the magic against Blagoy Ivanov. If anything, stay for the legendary post-fight interviews.
