This week’s Wednesday night rivalry matchup has the Washington Capitals visiting the Philadelphia Flyers. The Capitals have had plenty of time to get ready for this game as they have not played since Saturday when they lost 2-1 at home to Montreal. On the other side, the Flyers hosted Nashville on Monday night. This will be the first meeting between these teams since last year’s hard fought playoff series that the Capitals won in six games....
Two teams playing well meet on Friday night on NBCSN as the Los Angeles Kings visit the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Kings have won 7 of their last 10 games while the Penguins have won 8 of their last 10. This is not a good spot for Los Angeles as they will be playing their third game in four nights, all on the road and with no rest. It doesn’t help Los Angeles that they have to face a Pittsburgh team that was 12-3 in their first 15 home games....

We get a true rivalry game on Wednesday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Washington Capitals on NBCSN. Far too often the Wednesday night game is not even a rivalry at all but that is not the case this time around as the Penguins and Capitals despise each other. It doesn’t hurt that both teams are among the best in the NHL and that they have two superstars in Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin that can’t stand one another....
Atlantic Division rivals meet on Tuesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Detroit Red Wings. Both teams have hovered around the .500 mark this season but that is good enough to be in contention for 2nd place behind the Montreal Canadiens in the division. It has been almost all Tampa in this series of late as the Lightning have won seven of the last eight....
