Oftentimes the network claims their Wednesday night game is a rivalry, but in this case it actually is. The Canadiens and Bruins have played each other more than any other two teams in NHL history. This will be the second time in less than a week they will be playing, as they met on Saturday with Boston winning 4-3 in a shootout.... 

The New York Rangers will look to continue their recent dominance of the Philadelphia Flyers, as the teams meet on Tuesday night in a game that can be seen on NBCSN. The Rangers have won six of the last seven against the Flyers and six of the last eight in the series at MSG. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season. Both teams are battling to stay in contention in the Metropolitan Division, so this is another key matchup....

Chicago has been a perennial power in the NHL for the past decade, but this year’s team looks like they could be in serious danger of missing the playoffs. On the other side, the Rangers are battling for third place in the Metropolitan Division. These teams met earlier this season in Chicago and it was the Blackhawks winning by a score of 6-3.... 

The Winter Classic takes place on New Year’s Day at Citi Field in New York on NBC, as the New York Rangers play the Buffalo Sabres. Even though the game is being played in Queens, New York at the home of the New York Mets, which is about 6.5 hours from Buffalo, the Sabres are listed as the home team. This will be the second Winter Classic for the Sabres, as they played in the first one ten years ago and lost to the Penguins, while it is the second Winter Classic for the Rangers, as they beat the Flyers in the 2012 game.... 

The Washington Capitals will look to continue their dominance over the Boston Bruins, as they host Boston on Thursday night in a game that can be seen on NBCSN. The Bruins headed into this week red-hot, having won four straight, while the Capitals had dropped two in a row. The winner of this game could be the team that finds that extra bit of energy, as both teams are playing with no rest, as Boston was home against Ottawa on Wednesday, while the Capitals were in New York to play the Rangers.... 

The streakiest team in the NHL, the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night in a game that can be seen on NBCSN. The Red Wings are playing the second game of a four-game road trip and the second half of a back-to-back, as they were at the Islanders on Tuesday. The Flyers are completing a five-game homestand on Wednesday. The Flyers went 10 straight games without a win earlier this season but they went into this week on a seven-game winning streak.... 

The Boston Bruins are road favorites on Tuesday night, as they visit the Buffalo Sabres on NBCSN. It has been a miserable season so far for the Sabres, but they did break a seven-game losing streak in this series by winning 5-4 in Boston in late October. The situation on Tuesday does favor Buffalo, as they have not played since Friday, while the Bruins will be playing with no rest, as they hosted Columbus on Monday.... 

It is outdoor hockey on Saturday night in Ottawa, as the Montreal Canadiens visit the Ottawa Senators in the 2017 Scotiabank NHL 100 Classic on NBCSN. The game will be played at TD Place in Lansdowne Park, Ottawa Ontario, with an expected temperature of 12 degrees Fahrenheit with a 40% chance of snow flurries. The Senators will be happy to have the attention on the spectacle of the game, because they don’t want people looking at their play on the ice, as they have been one of the worst teams in the NHL this season....

The Bruins come into this game playing as well as they have all season, as they have won 8 of their last 10, including two straight, while the Red Wings have lost 8 of their last 10. Boston has dominated this series lately, taking 8 of the last 10 meetings.... 

Two teams that were supposed to be Stanley Cup contenders meet on Wednesday night on NBCSN, as the Chicago Blackhawks visit the Washington Capitals. The Blackhawks have not played well of late, losing their last four games and they are without one of the top goaltenders in the league, as Corey Crawford is hurt, while the Capitals are 6-4 in their last ten games. Washington has dominated this series of late, winning six of the last seven meetings overall and they have won the last four in Washington....

The Nashville Predators begin a four-game homestand on Tuesday night, as they host the Chicago Blackhawks on NBCSN. The Predators have been excellent at home this season, going 8-1-1 and they will have the advantage in terms of rest, as they last played on Sunday, while the Blackhawks are facing a back-to-back, having played on Monday at home against Anaheim. Chicago has not played well lately in back-to-back situations, having lost their last four games.... 

The Thanksgiving holiday gives us an NHL matinee on Friday, as the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Boston Bruins on NBC. Both teams have been up and down lately, as they are each 4-4-2 in their last 10 games.
