The Blues recently fired head coach Ken Hitchcock and gave Mike Yeo the job a little early as he was the coach in waiting but unless St. Louis gets better play on defense and in goal it won’t matter the coach is. On the other side, the Flyers have been inconsistent and really don’t look like a playoff team, but the Eastern Conference is so top heavy that they are still very much in contention.... 

  • BookMaker.eu The Buffalo Sabres will look to win their fourth straight game against the New York Rangers when the teams meet on Thursday night on NBCSN. The Sabres beat the Rangers 4-3 in New York last April and this season they have beaten the Rangers twice, 4-3 in Buffalo and 4-1 in New York. The Sabres are a much improved team this season as they are very much in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference but they will probably still be listed as home underdogs in this contest against New York....

It has been ugly for the Avalanche this season as they have the worst record in the NHL and they came out of the All-Star break on a 7-game losing streak. On the other side, the Kings are battling for one of the last two playoff spots in the Western Conference. Surprisingly, the Avalanche have won the last three meetings in this series.... 

  • BookMaker.eu It is a back-to-back for both the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals on Wednesday night as Boston visits Washington on NBCSN. The Bruins were in Tampa on Tuesday night while the Capitals were in New York. The edge should be with Washington as the travel is easier plus they are playing at home where they are 19-6 this season. It also helps that the Capitals have owned the Bruins recently, winning each of the last seven meetings.... 

  • BookMaker.eu The NHL All-Star Game takes place on Sunday in Los Angeles on NBC with the popular 3-on-3 format returning. There will be three 20-minute games with the Atlantic taking on the Metropolitan while the Central battles the Pacific. The winners of those two games will battle in the final. Last year the two semifinal games were high scoring as the Atlantic beat the Metropolitan 4-3 while the Pacific outscored the Central 9-6. On the other side, the Rangers seem to have gotten goaltender Henrik Lundqvist back on track and New York is battling to stay within striking distance of Washington in the division....

The Blues have lost three straight and have major issues in goal as they head into Pittsburgh to face Sidney Crosby and the Penguins who lead the league in goals per game at 3.6 per contest. It does not sound like a good situation for the Blues. The one positive for St. Louis is that they have taken six of the last ten in this series against the Penguins....

The Rangers have struggled lately, especially in goal while the Red Wings have made a minor surge to get back into playoff contention. The Sharks have not played well of late as they have fallen out of first place in the division while the Kings have played a little better lately to move to just a few points back of San Jose. The Sharks had dominated this series in recent years but things have changed this season as the Kings have taken the last two meetings by scores of 3-2 and 2-1.... 

  • BookMaker.eu The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins get a quick rematch on Monday night with the Penguins looking for some revenge. The teams met on Wednesday night in Washington with the Capitals winning by a score of 4-2. The Penguins have not played well this season against Washington as they also lost 7-1 in Washington in mid-November. The good news for the Penguins is that this game is in Pittsburgh where they have won the last five meetings against the Capitals....

The Wild will be favored at home in this contest as they have a huge advantage in terms of scheduling....

This will be an interesting contest as Backes returns to the city where he spent the first 10 years of his NHL career. Backes and the Bruins are in second place in the Atlantic Division while the Blues are in third place in the Central. This will be the second meeting between the teams this season as the Blues won 4-2 in Boston in November....

This will be an interesting matchup between the top-ranked offense of the Penguins that is averaging 3.4 goals per game and...

It has been nothing but misery for the Sabres recently against the Blackhawks in this series as they have lost the last nine meetings....

The Sabres are really struggling lately losing 7 of their last 10 while the Rangers have won 7 of their last 10. This would seem to be an easy spot for New York on Tuesday but Buffalo’s top player, Jack Eichel screamed at his team after Saturday’s loss to Boston so perhaps the Sabres will play an inspired game on Tuesday....

The teams played an intense contest on Saturday night that the Kings won by a score of 3-2 in Los Angeles. It was just the second loss in the last ten games for the Sharks who lead the Pacific Division while the win broke a three-game losing streak for the Kings. The win also broke a four-game losing streak for Los Angeles in this series against San Jose.... 

  • BookMaker.eu The 2017 Winter Classic takes place on Monday as the Chicago Blackhawks visit the St. Louis Blues at Busch Stadium which is the home of the St. Louis Cardinals. These two rivals have already met three times this season with Chicago winning twice including two weeks ago in St. Louis. Monday’s contest will be played outside so the weather could have an impact but it won’t be snow but rain as the start time could be affected by the amount of rain in the forecast. These teams played a couple of weeks ago in St. Louis and it was Chicago winning 6-4 as road underdogs.... 

  • BookMaker.eu The Centennial Classic which marks the NHL’s 100th anniversary takes place on Sunday on NBC as the Detroit Red Wings visit the Toronto Maple Leafs at BMO Field which is the home of the Toronto Argonauts. Detroit is very familiar with playing in these outdoor games as they have played in three of them including last year when they defeated Colorado at Coors Field in Denver. The Red Wings will be listed as road underdogs on Sunday in this game against the Maple Leafs....

The Devils are having a miserable season as they have one of the worst records in the league while the Capitals are considered Stanley Cup contenders. The Devils have been hopeless on the road going 4-17 while Washington is 12-5 at home. It has been really ugly lately for the Devils in this series as they have lost the last seven to the Capitals....
