NHL Odds - Bruins at Flyers Game Preview

2016-NHL-Bruins-at-Flyers-Betting-Lines

The Boston Bruins will look to continue their road success against the Philadelphia Flyers when the teams meet on Tuesday night on NBCSN as the Bruins have taken four of the last five in Philadelphia. Both teams come into this game struggling a bit as the Bruins have dropped three of their last four while the Flyers are just 3-5-2 in their last ten games. The NHL odds on this game should be near a pick with the total at 5 over.

At 7:30 p.m. ET, tune into NBCSN for live television coverage of this NHL game on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the Wells Fargo Center.

We'll have NHL odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NHL Tuesday schedule.

Odds Analysis

The Bruins have actually been a better team on the road than they have at home as Boston is 7-5 in their 12 road games. Boston has been a very good team to bet under the total on the road with 8 of their 12 games going under.

The Flyers haven’t been anything special at home as they were just 5-5-2 in their first 12 home games and that means bettors backing the Flyers in those games went 5-7. Philadelphia went over in six of those games with four games going under with two pushes.

Special Teams

The Bruins have been poor on the power play this season as they are just 21st in the NHL at 15.2%. The lack of success is one reason that Boston is struggling to score goals for the season as they are averaging just 2.3 goals per game, 25th in the NHL. The good news for Boston is their penalty killing has been excellent, ranking 4th in the league at 86.3%. Boston is 6th best in the league on defense allowing just 2.3 goals per contest.

Philadelphia is scoring plenty of goals as they average 3 goals per game which is 6th best in the NHL. The power play is a big reason for their success as the Flyers are 2nd in the league on the power play at 25.7%. The penalty killing for Philadelphia has been poor as the Flyers are 21st in the league at 80.9%. The Flyers are last in the league in defense, allowing 3.3 goals per contest.

Goalie Report

The Bruins have an excellent starting goaltender in Tuukka Rask who is 11-4 on the season with a 2.67 goals against average. He has been getting almost all of the work as backup Anton Khudobin has played just three games this season and lost all three with a goals against average of 3.41. It should be Rask in goal for this game on Tuesday.

The Flyers have been giving most of the goaltending work to Steve Mason who is 5-11 with a 3.04 goals against average. The backup, Michal Neuvirth is hurt as he was 4-2 with a 3.54 goals against average. The Flyers did call up rookie Anthony Stolarz who was supposed to start on Sunday. It should be Mason getting the start on Tuesday unless Stolarz has a superb debut on Sunday.

Free NHL Picks

The Bruins have done really well in this series lately winning 7 of the last 10 meetings with five overs, three unders and two pushes. The Bruins have also won seven of the last ten in Philadelphia with two of the last three going under.

The Bruins have done really well on the road in this series at Philadelphia and there is no question that Boston has the edge in goal with Rask over Mason. I will take Boston to get the road win. The Bruins have been a good team to bet under on the road and Rask has been excellent so I will also play this game under the total.

NHL Odds: Bruins 3, Flyers 1
