Running Back Props Betting - NFL Super Bowl 53 Props

The Super Bowl is the biggest spectacle in sports and much like the game has evolved over the years, so has the ability to gamble on it. Prop bets are a fun way to stay engaged even if you don’t have a horse in the race and BookMaker.eu offers up hundreds of prop options for the casual fan as well as the die-hards. The amount of money wagered on the Super Bowl is not counted in millions rather it’s counted in billions. And the prop bets have plenty to do with that, giving folks all kinds of opportunities to wager on something other than the spread and total.

Both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots are averaging over 165 rushing yards per game during the postseason and we’ve seen a number of players contribute to the success. And of course you can put some alfalfa down on Todd Gurley if you think he’s going to rebound from one of his worst games ever. Also, will New England’s Sony Michel continue to run wild? Let’s examine some props for the running backs taking part in Super Bowl LIII.

Watch Super Bowl LIII live on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The game will be televised on CBS.

Sony Michel Total Rushing Yards

Over 77.5 ( -130 )

Under 77.5 ( -102 )

Running behind an offensive line that is playing spectacularly this postseason, Michel has given the Pats balance that has allowed the group to thrive. New England has amassed 1,022 total yards in two games with Michel totaling 242 rushing yards. Michel led the Pats in rushing during the regular season, but had only 921 yards while eclipsing the 100-yard mark four times in 13 games.

In his first playoff game, Michel scampered for 129 yards on 24 carries against the Chargers and followed that up with 113 yards on 29 attempts in the AFC title game. His rush attempts against Kansas City were the most by a Pats’ ball carrier this season and he has earned the trust of Bill Belichick to become the featured back in the offense. The Rams were among the worst stopping the run during the regular season, and though they have tightened up in the playoffs, I don’t see them holding Michel down the entire game.

Prediction: Over ( -130 )

Todd Gurley Total Rushing Yards

Over 62.5 ( -124 )

Under 62.5 ( -102 )

All indications point to Gurley being healthy and his limited action in the NFC Championship was due more to his miscues early in that contest. The Rams run their offense around Gurley and he has something to prove after admittedly playing a “sorry” game against the Saints. The knee injury that shelved him for the final two regular season games isn’t an issue. “I expect to play every play and never come out of the game,” Gurley said this week.

If that’s the case he has a glorious chance of winning a number of prop bets. However, the emergence of C.J. Anderson should give him a chance in the rotation and that cuts into Gurley’s carries and yards. While I expect him to impact the game, Gurley won’t go over his total splitting time with Anderson.

Prediction: Under ( -102 )

James White Total Rushing Attempts

Over 3.5 ( -115 )

Under 3.5 ( -115 )

White probably should have won MVP two years ago when the Pats overcame a big deficit to beat the Falcons in overtime. After all, he scored the game-winning touchdown and totaled 139 yards from scrimmage with three scores. He carried the ball six times in that game and the total appears to be well within his reach. However, it will be difficult with Michel taking over as the lead dog and White splitting reps with Rex Burkhead.

White averaged nearly six carries per game during the regular season and had five rush attempts against the Chiefs. That came after not running the ball once in the divisional game with the Bolts. The Pats game plan has plenty to do with how the numbers play out and their ability to effectively run the ball sets him up for the over.

Prediction: Over ( -115 )
