Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers SNF Week 11 Lines

Chiefs at Chargers SNF Week 11 Betting

The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC might go through the Kansas City Chiefs for the fifth straight season. Kansas City has hosted the last four AFC Championship Games, winning two and losing two, and the Chiefs are currently the top team in the conference with a 7-2 record. They have won three straight games, but they face a tough test on Sunday Night Football as the Los Angeles Chargers have been a game opponent over the last couple seasons.

A win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football would almost certainly guarantee the Kansas City Chiefs another AFC West title. Kansas City is looking to win its seventh straight division championship, and the Chiefs would move three games ahead of the Chargers with the victory. These teams will meet on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

NFL Week 11 Betting Odds

Kansas City Chiefs -7

Los Angeles Chargers +7

Total 50

Money Line: Chiefs -300, Chargers +245

Odds Analysis

The total opened at 50 and is once again sitting at 50 after dropping down to 49.5 for a short time. Meanwhile, we have seen the spread drop from Kansas City -6 to Kansas City -5.5, as the Chargers nearly knocked off the Chiefs earlier in the season.

Kansas City Chiefs

If the season ended today, Patrick Mahomes would probably be the NFL MVP. Mahomes has been fantastic in leading the Chiefs to the best record in the AFC through 10 weeks. There were some that thought he wouldn’t be as effective without Tyreek Hill, but he has dispelled that notion by completing 66.9% of his passes for 2,936 yards (8.0 YPA) with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

To no one’s surprise, Travis Kelce is the leading receiver now with 63 receptions for 740 yards and eight touchdowns. Mahomes has been sure to get offseason additions JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling involved in the offense too though. Smith-Schuster has 46 receptions for 615 yards and two touchdowns, while Valdes-Scantling has 26 catches for 441 yards and a TD. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Isiah Pacheco have split the carries for this team.

Kansas City has an average defense, and that’s good enough for the Chiefs to win most games given its strength on offense. The Chiefs are still led by Chris Jones in the middle of the defensive line, and he has seven sacks on the year. Carlos Dunlap has been able to provide pressure too, and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has been used on corner blitzes often.

That’s useful since this secondary has just three interceptions in 2022.

Los Angeles Chargers

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but the Los Angeles Chargers are really banged up. Top receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are both questionable to play, and tight end Gerald Everett is questionable to suit up too. Fellow receivers Jalen Guyton and Donald Parham are on injured reserve, and all the specialists are questionable too as kicker Dustin Hopkins, punter J.K. Scott, and return man DeAndre Carter are all dealing with injuries. That has made this offense very predictable as Justin Herbert targets Austin Ekeler out of the backfield a lot, and the receivers are very mediocre given what he has to work with at the moment.

This defense has some real problems up front as well. Four of their nine defensive linemen are currently on injured reserve, and top linebacker Joey Bosa is still out due to injury. That makes this front seven very susceptible to the ground game even though Khalil Mack has had a nice season with his new team. Derwin James has been great at safety too, but the Chargers are really going to miss not having a shutdown corner like J.C. Jackson for this game.

Chiefs at Chargers Free Pick

The Kansas City Chiefs have to be the play in this game given the injury situation for the Los Angeles Chargers. There ae just too many questions for the Chargers, and they don’t have a home field advantage that will be able to help them.
