Dillon Danis vs. Logan Paul Boxing Betting

The scheduled cruiserweight boxing match between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul, billed as the joint main event on the KSI vs. Fury fight card at MF & DAZN: X Series 10, has gotten more attention for the exploits of the fighters outside the ring. That’s because neither Paul nor Danis have much experience inside it. Paul enters the ring for the first time since taking on Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout more than two years ago. And Danis, a former MMA fighter in the Bellator promotion, has never participated in a boxing contest.

Experience doesn’t matter in the world of crossover boxing as long as one fighter can generate enough interest through their social media influence. And Paul definitely fits the bill in that regard. And the storylines leading up to the fight make up for the lack of experience the fighters have inside the ring. Paul’s exploits in combat sports coupled with the recent inactivity of Danis puts Paul as a massive -650 favorite on the boxing betting line.

Dillon Danis vs. Logan Paul Fight Preview

A joint main event between boxers with one professional fight and zero professional wins sounds ludicrous. However, in the world of crossover boxing anything goes. Besides, it’s not like the two are coming off the street to do battle. Danis and Paul both have extensive backgrounds in combat sports with Paul dipping into wrestling as part of WWE along with a few boxing matches.

Danis won both his Bellator fights via first round stoppage and has competed in a number of grappling events. However, he has nothing on his record since beating Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in June 2019. That’s a long time to be inactive regardless of how much training you do. And Danis prepared for this fight with the help of Conor McGregor. While it might give some credibility to his training method, in no way does it mean Danis is ready to jump in the ring with someone that is trying to bash his brains in.

And I say that in all seriousness because that is what Paul intends to do. The build up for this fight on social media has been legendary with each fighter calling out the other. Paul’s fiancée Nina Agdal even became a target leading Paul to take legal measures and Agdal to get a restraining order against Danis.

Just recently questions arose about whether or not Danis would even show up for the fight. Throughout the lead-in Paul said he believed Danis would back out, and his concerns have merit. Danis pulled out of a scheduled fight earlier this year against KSI with Misfits Boxing saying he was “underprepared.” As of this writing the fight is still on schedule, though a backup plan is in place. Should Danis or even Paul for whatever reason not fight on Oct. 14, BKFC star Mike Perry is in line to jump in the ring.

At this point it might be a good idea for Danis to come up injured (wink, wink) during training. He’s pissed off Paul and so many others that he’s probably the most hated fighter in the crossover community. There is a financial incentive for Danis to show, though. He would have to pay for backing out with a non-verifiable injury and Danis also had to pay to get out of his MMA contract for this fight. We’ll see what happens in the days before the fight.

Bet Dillon Danis vs. Logan Paul

I’m not convinced betting on this fight is a good idea, but degenerate gamblers around the world need something to throw down on. Paul is certainly motivated to beat Danis and inflict as much punishment as possible. And it’s hard to take Danis seriously when he seems more interested in trolling the couple. The presence of McGregor hasn’t made a difference on the odds board with Danis a substantial underdog and wagering on the favorite at his price has little value. If I’m going out on a limb I would have to back Paul for a KO in the first few rounds of this spectacle.
