We be jammin' mon!

No matter what the situation is, the Jamaican soccer team always looks as if it's having a good time on the pitch. They're probably just a bit overmatched at Copa America for the second straight year, and we have to wonder if their stay in 100th anniversary of this great tournament will end up being rather short.

JAMAICA PROFILE

Odds To Win Copa America: +15000

Team Nickname: Reggae Boyz

Head Coach: Winfried Schafer

FIFA World Ranking: 54

HOW THEY GOT HERE

Aside from the 10 CONMEBOL teams, CONCACAF placed six teams in this tournament this year for its 100th anniversary. Jamaica, a team which played in Copa America last year as an invitee, automatically qualified by winning the 2014 Caribbean Cup. That's why the Reggae Boyz decided to accept an invitation to Copa America in 2015, knowing that they were going to be fighting it out against these same teams the next year in the bigger version of the tournament on American soil.

That said, Winfried Schafer's bunch hasn't been good in recent months. The team was excellent at the Gold Cup and even beat the United States in Atlanta in the semifinals. Since then though, the results have been shoddy at best. Jamaica only has four points from four matches in World Cup qualifying, and anything less than six in its last two duels will keep it out of the Hexagonal, the last stage of qualifying for the World Cup.

Jamaica figures to enter Copa America without a win this year. The team drew to Costa Rica 1-1 in Kingston in March then followed that up four days later with a 3-0 loss to the same team. A friendly against Chile in a couple weeks probably won't go well either.

KEY PLAYERS

Some of the key members of the Gold Cup team really came out of nowhere for Jamaica. Giles Barnes scored twice in the tournament after having just one goal for his country before the tournament. Gareth McCleary also had two of his three career goals playing for the Reggae Boyz in the Gold Cup.

Still, the really key man here is Darren Mattocks. Mattocks opened the scoring against the United States in that Gold Cup match, and he's got a far higher success rate in terms of goals for his nation than anyone else available for choosing for the roster. He's got a dozen goals in 36 matches, and he knows all about playing against players of this caliber in the MLS with the Portland Timbers.

When Jamaica gets free kicks, look out. Demar Phillips might be a defender, but he has a dozen international goals in 72 Caps and is a specialize at free kicks for Real Salt Lake in the MLS.

COPA AMERICA ODDS ANALYSIS AND QUICK PICK

Jamaica found itself in a nasty group with Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina in Copa America last year and predictably was beaten all three times by matching 1-0 scores. The question now, is whether it has learned anything and whether it can use that great run in the Gold Cup as a boost for anything here in Copa America Centenario.

We doubt it.

The fact of the matter is that the Jamaicans just don't have the same type of international talent of many of these other South American teams. Sure, having a bunch of guys in the MLS is nice, but without really any major internationals save for Adrian Mariappa and Wes Morgan, a pair of EPL defenders, we just don't see this team competing.

Add in the fact that both Uruguay and Mexico are in this group, and the makings are there for another clean sweep of opponents of Jamaica in June.
