NCAA Football Betting Online: The Colorado State Rams have a tough non-conference road to hoe at the start of the season, but don’t be count them out if they start slowly. This is a team that should be in contention for the Mountain West Conference crown.
While they aren’t the favorites, the Rams are looked upon as one of strongest teams in the conference heading into 2017. Colorado State went 7-6 a year ago and returns a plethora of key offensive pieces to a unit which scored a lot of points last season.
For the Rams to truly live up to their expectations, they will need the defense to stiffen up, especially in key situations in the red zone. It should be an exciting season at Colorado State, where another bowl berth is expected.

Colorado State scored 35.3 points per game a season ago, which was the 28th-best mark in the country. Nick Stevens began the year as the backup but excelled after an injury, finishing with 1,933 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. He returns, as do his top three targets in the passing game.
The running attack will be led by Dalyn Dawkins, who finished last season with 161 carries for 919 yards and four touchdowns. Also back is Izzy Matthews, who added 734 rushing yards and 13 scores a season ago.
The defense is the bigger question mark, as it returns eight starters but struggled at times a year ago, including when it gave up 61 points in a bowl game loss to Idaho. The Rams had some good games, including a shutout of Fresno State in November, and the defense needs to play better in order for the team to compete for conference supremacy.

Colorado State has a lot going for it, but there were games last year in which it proved not quite ready for primetime. The rams are hoping to take that experience and take another step forward.
Boise State, Wyoming and others are also bringing back a lot of talent, but it would not be a surprise for the Rams to be right in the mix for Mountain West Conference supremacy. The offense should continue to light up the scoreboard, and if the defense gets stops, this is a team that must be watched closely.
