Major League Soccer Betting OddsMLS Soccer Betting Lines: If you're looking for the best advice for MLS wagering, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we’re previewing the MLS season, which will begin on Sunday March 6th, 2016, at various stadiums, featuring the Portland Timbers, the New York Red Bulls, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Columbus Crew.

The Portland Timbers stunned many throughout the MLS when they navigated the playoffs last year and captured their inaugural MLS Cup. The Timbers will aim to defend that title in a regular season which begins on Sunday, March 6th, 2016. Portland was a surprise champion and may not have the best odds to win this year’s cup in MLS wagering.

The Portland Timbers finished the 2015 regular season with  a record of 15-11-8 to finish with 53 points and enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. The Timbers just missed out on earning a first-round bye and instead had to face off against Sporting Kansas City. The match was close but Portland escaped with a 3-2 win by capturing the shootout by a score of 7-6. In the quarterfinals the Timbers faced off against the Vancouver Whitecaps and captured a 2-0 upset victory. The Timbers then won their semifinal match against top-seeded FC Dallas by a score of 5-3 to advance to the championship match. Portland faced off against the Columbus Crew SC for the MLS Cup and won 2-1.

Last year’s MLS Cup was interesting in that neither of the top seeds from either conference made it to the finals. The New York Red Bulls won the East with a record of 18-10-6 for 60 total points. FC Dallas had an identical record to accumulate 60 points as well. Both will aim to put together impressive regular seasons but then make a better run in the playoffs.

One of the top players in the MLS last season was Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto FC. He tied for the league lead in goals with 22 and added a league-best 16 assists. Giovinco captured the league’s Most Valuable Player award. Kei Kamara of Columbus also scored 22 goals on the season, while Robbie Keane of the Los Angeles Galaxy finished with 20 goals. Keane was the MVP of the 2014 season. David Villa of NYCFC finished with 18 goals and Bradley Wright-Phillips of the New York Red Bulls had 17 goals.

Stefan Frei of the Seattle Sounders had a save percentage of 77 percent and only allowed 1.06 goals per game, which kept the club in games despite a mediocre offense. Many of the top names in the MLS will be back again this season, with the New York Red Bulls looking like another solid team. The Portland Timbers found a groove at the exact right time in the MLS playoffs and turned it into their first career title. They will aim for the repeat but there will be many talented teams aiming to knock them off in MLS wagering.
