The second set of Champions League Group Stage matches will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is typically the time we see which teams are contenders and which are pretenders as any team with two losses will have a tough time making it into the knockout rounds. Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur are two of the teams looking to avoid falling to 0-2 with a result on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s matches will feature teams from Group A to Group D.

The Champions League Group Stage will last from September 18 to December 2. There will be eight groups with four teams in each group, and the top two teams in each group will advance to the Round of 16. Check out all the action this week at BookMaker.

Barcelona -121

Tottenham Hotspur +254

Draw +280

Over/Under 3

Tottenham knew they would have a hard time getting out of Group B. This was labeled the Group of Death after the draw was announced, as Spurs were placed into a group with Inter Milan and Barcelona. They had a great chance to pick up a result in Milan two weeks ago, but they blew it at the end and that might cost them a spot in the knockout rounds.

For most of that match, Tottenham looked like the better club. Spurs were doing a good job of keeping possession and went up 1-0 after a Christian Eriksen goal in the 53rd minute. It seemed that the draw at least was a certainty later in the match, but Inter got a goal from Mauro Icardi to tie things up in the 86th minute and Matias Falero tallied in extra time to give the home side the win.

Now, Spurs must find a way to get a point out of their tie with Barcelona. The Blaugrana have not been unbeatable this year, but this is still one of the most talented clubs in the world. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have paired well with new addition Ousmane Dembele, and this attack is just as lethal as it was in the past.

Both teams would likely be alright with a draw in this match given the circumstances, but Barcelona can break out at any time and Tottenham’s back line has been shaky.

Liverpool -106

Napoli +241

Draw +270

Over/Under 3

It’s been a great start to the year for Liverpool. The Reds are sitting atop the Premier League table, and they are in first place in their group too. They outlasted Paris Saint-Germain in a thrilling duel two weeks ago, and now they are looking to cement their place atop Group C.

Napoli missed out on a great chance to get a win against Red Star Belgrade in their first match. The Neapolitan club controlled the ball for an overwhelming portion of the game, and they took 20 shots. Unfortunately for them, the match ended 0-0 and now they need to start grabbing points against the two heavyweights.

Lorenzo Insigne is the man that Napoli will rely on to find the back of the net. Insigne has scored five goals in Napoli’s last seven matches, and he could find some success against Liverpool’s back line in friendly confines.

However, Liverpool are incredibly deep and incredibly talented. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino are back to their goal scoring ways, and their open style of play is tough for most teams to counter. Additionally, the Reds got much better in the back by adding goalkeeper Alisson this offseason.

The over could be a good play in this one even with Alisson in net. Liverpool played fast and loose during their run to the Champions League Final last year, and it looks like they might do the same thing this season. This should be the best match of the day.
