  • BookMaker.eu It’s been a long time coming. The Portland Timbers will finally be able to return home this weekend after spending the first three months of the season on the road. Providence Park has been undergoing much-needed renovations, and without another suitable venue in the area, the Timbers were forced to go on the road. They performed about as well as they could given the circumstances, and now they will be at home for 17 of their last 22 regular season games. However, their return home could very we...

  • BookMaker.eu One of the best defenders in the history of the MLS has decided to step away from the game. The Seattle Sounders’ Chad Marshall has been dealing with a number of injuries over the last few seasons, and he has finally made the decision to call it a career. Marshall is the only player in the history of the league to be named MLS Defender of the Year on three separate occasions, and the Sounders will miss his presence in the back line. With the Sounders currently in second place, that news could ma...

  • BookMaker.eu We are a third of the way into the season, and we could see history made on both ends of the table in the MLS. The Colorado Rapids are winless and have just two points from their first 11 games. If they keep this pace up, they would finish with just six points and become the worst team in MLS history by a substantial margin. Currently, the worst team in league history is the Tampa Bay Mutiny, who finished with 14 points in 2001....

  • BookMaker.eu The best team in the MLS this season has been Los Angeles FC. LAFC have played a daring, attacking style that is pleasing to the eye and difficult for opponents to stop. They are the highest scoring team in the league, and they have recovered after a little blip in the results. LAFC are currently five points ahead of the next closest team in the Western Conference, and they are the frontrunners to win the Supporter’s Shield as well. That’s why they are heavy favorites against a good FC Dallas cl...

  • BookMaker.eu Home is where the heart is, and the Los Angeles Galaxy are happy to be back after two straight road defeats. The Galaxy have been flawless at home this season, notching a 6-0-0 record, and they will be out to make it seven wins in seven home tilts against New York City FC this weekend. NYCFC have overcome a sluggish start, and the Cityzens are now hot coming into this tilt. Their recent upturn in form has them optimistic about getting a result in LA....

  • BookMaker.eu There could be a lot of history made this season. The New England Revolution, FC Cincinnati, and Colorado Rapids have all been abysmal. These three teams could set ignominious records because of their poor play, while two others could set the kind of records teams want to set. Both Los Angeles FC and Houston Dynamo have played exceptionally well this season and will look to keep their strong starts alive despite facing tough opponents this week....

  • BookMaker.eu The Los Angeles Galaxy have been one of the best teams in the MLS this season. While city rival LAFC have gotten a lot of the attention because of their goal scoring prowess, the Galaxy have the best record in the league through nine games at 7-1-1. This Saturday, they will head east to take on last year’s Eastern Conference runner-up New York Red Bulls. It hasn’t been the best season for NYRB to this point, but they will be out to defend their home turf....

  • BookMaker.eu We’re about a quarter of the way through the MLS season, and we have started to see a little bit of separation. The two Los Angeles teams look like two of the MLS Cup favorites. Los Angeles FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy are the only two teams in the league with more than 20 points, and they are running neck and neck with one another. That will be a race to watch throughout the year....

  • BookMaker.eu Two of the MLS’ best teams will face off on Sunday when Los Angeles FC heads up I-5 to take on the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders looked like the best team in the league through the first month of the season, but LAFC currently has the league’s best record and has lit the league on fire with its goal scoring prowess. These two teams played just last week, and LAFC dominated the affair in a 4-1 win in Los Angeles. Carlos Vela notched a brace, while Eduard Atuesta and Christian Ramirez added goals...

  • BookMaker.eu It’s not time for Atlanta United to push the panic button just yet. The reigning MLS Cup champions are not off to a good start, but it’s been tough to transition from head coach Tata Martino to Frank de Boer, and the loss of Miguel Almiron has been a big one....

  • BookMaker.eu The arrival of Wayne Rooney has completely turned around DC United. Rooney led the moribund club in one of the biggest midseason turnarounds ever, taking them from the bottom of the table to the playoffs with a scintillating performance over the last half of 2018. The club has proved that this is no fluke, and DC United are currently sitting all alone atop the Eastern Conference entering this week’s games. This week they will be facing a hungry New York City FC team that is the last team in the ...

  • BookMaker.eu Minnesota United will be the newest team to open a brand new stadium this Saturday when Allianz Field sees its first game. The Loons had played at TCF Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, while they were waiting for their own soccer-specific stadium to be built. They will be looking to break in the new grounds right with a win over the visiting New York City FC....

  • BookMaker.eu The best Western Conference team in the regular season in 2018 will take a relatively short jaunt to take on the MLS’ newest franchise in the MLS Game of the Week on Sunday. Sporting Kansas City are looking to repeat as Western Conference champions, but they have yet to win a road game in two tries this season. They have to like their chances against an expansion team, yet FC Cincinnati have shown they are more game than you might think. This will be the first meeting between these two teams....

  • BookMaker.eu We didn’t have many games last weekend because of the international break, but the MLS is back in full force with a full slate of action this week. All 24 teams will be in action this weekend with most of the action taking place on Saturday, and as the season is winding down in most leagues, it’s just getting started in the United States. Let’s look at the games....

  • BookMaker.eu The international break has meant that there isn’t as much soccer as usual this weekend, but the MLS will have five games to keep our palates satiated. Last week saw some great games as Wayne Rooney notched his first hat trick since joining the MLS, and the goals were coming in droves as there were nearly four goals scored per game in the highest scoring weekend of the season. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues in the fourth week of the year....

  • BookMaker.eu There are only three MLS games on Sunday this weekend, but four of the best teams in the league will be in action. The game of the day will be the first part of the tripleheader as New York City hosts Los Angeles FC in a battle between two teams that finished third in their conference in 2018. FC Cincinnati makes history when they host their first MLS game as the Western Conference champion Portland Timbers come to town, and the day concludes with defending champion Atlanta United looking to bre...

  • BookMaker.eu The MLS is more up and down than any other league in the world. The nature of the league has led to there being a lot of parity, so it’s rare to see huge lines in this league. It takes a while to shake out which teams are among the best and which are among the worst, and home field advantage is vastly more important in the MLS than in other leagues. With that in mind, let’s look at the matches on Saturday in Matchday 3....

  • BookMaker.eu The opening week of the MLS gave us plenty of surprises. Atlanta United and Sporting Kansas City fell on the road to DC United and Los Angeles FC, while the Portland Timbers and New York Red Bulls settled for draws. Those were the final four teams in the playoffs last season, and to see none of the four teams pick up a victory might show a changing of the guard. We’ll see whether or not they can get a win in Matchday 2 this weekend....

  • BookMaker.eu Atlanta United are out to defend their title this season. The Five Stripes were incredible throughout 2018, and it culminated in Atlanta United knocking off the Portland Timbers for an MLS championship in just their second year. They are off to a rocky start this year, but they are heavy favorites coming into their match with expansion club FC Cincinnati. FC Cincinnati are looking for their first win as an MLS franchise, and they would love to knock off the defending champions....

  • BookMaker.eu After winning the MLS Cup in only they second season, what can Atlanta United do for an encore? Much has changed since the club beat the Portland Timbers for the 2018 MLS Cup, but Atlanta United are still the favorite to win the league. They have the best forward in the game in Josef Martinez and replaced their departed stars with other talented acquisitions. Atlanta will look to get their title defense started the right way, but DC United are a strong title contender....

  • BookMaker.eu Los Angeles FC were one of the biggest surprises of 2018. LAFC were picked to finish near the bottom of the league by many experts in the preseason, as many believed the expansion franchise just didn’t have enough guns to compete. They proved everyone wrong by finishing in third place in the loaded Western Conference, before being stunned by Real Salt Lake in the playoffs. The club has been able to keep their core together and they will look to start off with a win against Sporting Kansas City....

  • BookMaker.eu A city that has been starved of sports success is looking to erase years of heartache in one fell swoop. Atlanta has seen a lot over the years. The city saw two hockey teams leave town, experienced agony after agony with a baseball team that set a record for most division titles but only won one World Series title, dealt with consistently bad basketball teams, and experienced 28-3. Despite all of that, Atlanta United have been embraced by the city from their outset and they are looking to repay ...

  • BookMaker.eu After a week off due to the international break, the MLS Playoffs return this Sunday with the first leg of the conference finals. Both conference finals will play their first leg on Sunday and the second leg on Thursday before the MLS Cup Final on December 8. Whichever team wins the Eastern Conference Finals will host as both of those teams finished with more regular season points than their Western Conference counterparts....

  • BookMaker.eu The Eastern Conference Semifinals will conclude this Sunday, and the two New York clubs are looking to make it an all-Gotham affair. However, both teams lost their first leg 1-0, and both clubs need to grab wins in the second leg to advance. The New York Red Bulls played pretty level with the Columbus Crew despite their loss and the winners of the Supporter’s Shield are still in good shape to advance. However, the same can’t be said about New York City FC, as NYCFC lost 1-0 at home to Atlanta United and now need to pick up a road win to stay alive. ...

  • BookMaker.eu In the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals, both home teams picked up results. The Portland Timbers knocked off the Seattle Sounders 2-1 in a match where all the scoring took place in the first 30 minutes of action, while Real Salt Lake secured a draw against regular season champions Sporting KC. All four teams are very much alive heading into the second leg of their bout with a spot in the Western Conference Finals on the line. ...
