Rams rookie Todd Gurley can further his push for the league’s rookie of the year with another standout game against Cleveland’s NFL-worst run defense. Since being fully integrated into St. Louis’ backfield two games ago, Gurley has amassed 305 yards to put himself in the conversation. Cleveland will have a tough time keeping its streak of over plays going against a strong Rams D. The Browns have played above the final total in all six games....
With all the talk of another winless season out of the way, the Lions can start working on getting back to respectability. They’ll also get a chance to avenge their Week 2 loss to the Vikings when the NFC North rivals meet. Not surprising that the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers enter the first of their two annual NFC West showdowns with identical records. The big surprise is that they are at the bottom of the division. While the Niners were expected to take some lumps after a nasty off-season, the Seahawks were to be contenders. They might still be, but they’ll need to close games out in the fourth quarter if they want to get there....
No one is going to confuse the NFC East with the best division in football. That doesn’t make divisional matchups any less significant, and we have a good one on Monday Night Football when the Eagles welcome the division-leading Giants to town.
