Roethlisberger-Brees Injury Report - NFL Betting

Week 2 was a difficult one for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints. By the end of the day both teams were short a quarterback and it looks like neither Ben Roethlisberger or Drew Brees will be returning anytime soon. With both veteran quarterbacks on the IR lists until further notice, the weekly, playoff and future odds will reflect their absences moving forward.

Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) is reportedly out for the season after suffering an elbow injury in the second quarter of Sundays game against the Seattle Seahawks. He is expected to undergo surgery this week to repair his right elbow. Mason Rudolph filled in for Big Ben on Sunday completing 12 passes for 112 yards but unfortunately the game was lost 28-26. Rudolphis just in his 2nd year but is looking forward to filling the void left by Roethlisbergeras the season plays out.

Drew Brees (thumb) won’t miss the rest of the season, but he will be out for approximately 6 weeks. His injury is essentially a torn ligament in his right thumb. Although surgery on the injured thumb has been part of the conversation, Brees has stated that he will be looking for a second opinion on the matter. It is also important to point out that if the Saints decide to place him on the IR list he will be required to sit out for at least 8 weeks. Teddy Bridgewater is the young quarterback that will be holding down the fort until Brees is back on the field. While filling in last Sunday he was able to complete 17 passes for a total of 165 yards in their 27-9 loss to the Rams.
