The SEC East has been pretty unpredictable this season, but one team that’s lived up to its potential has been the Florida Gators. They sit in first place in the conference and will aim to stay there with a tough road win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 10 of the college football season....
In what’s likely the most intriguing matchup of the Week 10 schedule, the Nebraska Cornhuskers journey to Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a battle of top-10 teams. Both of these teams are 7-1, but not playing up to potential. They’re each in need of a big win to help their stock, each pushing for playoff consideration....
With one more win the Central Michigan Chippewas will be bowl eligible this season. It’s been a solid year for the Chips who scored what may have been the conference’s biggest win when they knocked off Oklahoma State in September. Central Michigan has had a tougher time in conference play with just a 2-3 mark though. In College Football Week 10, the Chips will look to move to .500 in the MAC with a win over the Miami (OH) Redhawks....
The Maryland Terrapins are set up as the next victims for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan will host Maryland in Week 10 looking to keep their undefeated season alive. A win seems all but a certainty, but a win against the spread is a different case. The Wolverines have failed to cover the spread in back-to-back games and three of their last four outings....
Just a week after pushing Ohio State to the final minutes in a narrow 24-20 loss, the Northwestern Wildcats will have another chance against a top-10 team as they square off against the Wisconsin Badgers in Week 10. The Badgers themselves lost to Ohio State by more than the Wildcats, but to Wisconsin’s credit that game was at Ohio State and they did take the Buckeyes into overtime....
Matt Rhule has been one of the most underrated coaches in the country over the last couple seasons. His Temple Owls are in the driver’s seat in the AAC East, but have to win their last three games in order to make the conference title game. The good news is that they should be favored in each of their last three. Temple will start their stretch run when it travels to Storrs to take on the Connecticut Huskies in Week 10 college football....
The Boise State Broncos were the leading candidate to obtain the Group of Five spot for a New Year’s Day Bowl before last week. Then, a loss to Wyoming threw those chances for a spin as well as their chances to win the Mountain West. The Arkansas State Red Wolves have won 12 straight Sun Belt games dating back to 2014 and are one of three teams currently undefeated in the conference. The No. 13 Baylor Bears suffered their first loss of the season last week, falling to Texas by a late field goal and slipping five spots in the national rankings. The Bears return home to get back on track this week, taking on the TCU Horned Frogs....
The No. 4 Washington Huskies just keep on rolling. The team improved to 8-0 last week, defeating No. 17 Utah 31-24, and find themselves smack dab in the middle of the College Football Playoff conversation....
The USC Trojans have really turned things around in the month and unfortunately, time is running out for the Oregon Ducks to do the same for their season. After starting the season 1-3, the Trojans come into this Week 10 Pac-12 matchup against the Ducks with a four-game winning streak in tow....
The Miami Hurricanes are looking for their first win in more than a month this week when they host the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Hurricanes fell by a late field goal to Notre Dame last Saturday and are in desperate need of a win right now....
The No. 18 North Carolina Tar Heels are battle-tested and riding high right now. The Tar Heels are 6-2 on the season and are fresh off two big wins over Miami and Virginia and will be looking for their third straight victory in this Week 10 matchup against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets....
The No. 19 Florida State Seminoles are looking to rebound this week after losing a tight one to No. 3 Clemson. The loss sent the Seminoles tumbling seven spots down the national polls and a road win in Raleigh would be a solid response in this Week 10 matchup against the North Carolina State Wolfpack....
The No. 3 Clemson Tigers come into this Week 10 matchup against Syracuse as huge favorites at home and fresh off a grind-it-out victory over No. 12 Florida State. The Tigers are undefeated at 8-0 and while many believe the Seminoles were their last big hurdle, they still need to show up each week to avoid a misstep....
Fresh off their first loss of the season, the West Virginia Mountaineers will return home for Week 10 hoping to regain some momentum in a showdown with the Kansas Jayhawks. The Week 9 loss caused the Mountaineers to fall down to No. 15 in the nation, losing its undefeated status. The Jayhawks offer a great matchup to rebound, but with such a large spread, Kansas could be in position to cover for just the third time this season....
The Ohio Bobcats are in first place in the MAC East, but now must overcome some adversity. Starting QB Greg Windham injured his leg in Ohio’s win over Toledo last week and now the Bobcats are going to have to rally around freshman QB Quinton Maxwell for the rest of the season. Now these two teams will square off in Week 10 action with UCF in the midst of a nice bounce back season. The Knights will hope to take advantage of a Tulane team that’s 0-4 in conference....
Both the Akron Zips and the Toledo Rockets were upset as double-digit favorites last week. Akron suffered an embarrassing loss to what was previously thought to be the worst team in the conference in Buffalo, while Toledo was outplayed by a game Ohio team. These two teams still control their own destiny but each needs a win in order to continue to control their own destiny in this College Football Week 10 match-up....
The Bowling Green Falcons are finding out the hard way what life is like without Dino Babers. Bowling Green has gone from having the best offense in the MAC to the second-worst and the Falcons defense has given up more points than any team in the country. The Falcons have looked better in recent weeks though and have shown signs of life. In an early Week 10 college football match-up they will travel to DeKalb to face the Northern Illinois Huskies....
Looking to extend its winning streak to six straight games, the Troy Trojans have a favorable matchup against a very weak Massachusetts Minutemen squad in Week 10. While Massachusetts is coming off a win, they played Wagner, a team that should beat with ease. Before that, the Minutemen had lost five straight and are just 2-7 overall; painting a lopsided showdown in favor of the home team....
The Mississippi Rebels are having a rough season and that manifested itself in Week 9 when the team led after three quarters, but eventually lost by 11-points. They’re really struggling, losing three straight games mostly on the ills of their defense. The Georgia Southern Eagles offer a one-dimensional offense to contend with in Week 10, but that dimension doesn’t line up well with Ole Miss’s struggles....
This has been a back and forth series between the Texas A&M Aggies at Mississippi State Bulldogs. With no team winning this showdown in back-to-back years since they started playing each other annually in 2012. This 2016 showdown could change things.
