Week 11 College Football National Championship Odds Update

Week 11 College Football National Championship Odds Update

Week 11 will open minus one top favorite for the national championship as the LSU Tigers were proven to be not ready for prime time in their 29-0 home loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Along those same lines Alabama came away from the CBS prime time win looking more invincible than ever to much of the gambling public. But gaining in esteem are the Clemson Tigers, who are now considered to be the top alternative to the Tide. But the Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, and Oklahoma Sooners may provide superior betting value and the legitimate chance to cash in a ticket. Let’s take a look at the current national championship picture in college football.

College Football National Championship Odds at BookMaker.eu: Alabama -295, Clemson +330, Notre Dame +610, Ohio State +715, Georgia +915, Michigan +1050, Oklahoma +2050

Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama flexed their muscles in impressive fashion against LSU and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enhanced his Heisman Trophy credentials in front of a national TV audience. Beyond that the Tide quieted those skeptics who said their defense was down a notch. The only problem with Alabama is their price. Tagovailoa has a 215-quarterback rating with 27 touchdown passes and just one interception. He is averaging 12.17 yards per pass.

Clemson Tigers

Clemson continues to grow as the team considered to be the biggest threat to the Crimson Tide. Since settling on true freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Tigers have come away with the cash in four consecutive games, all of which were slaughters. Last week Clemson annihilated the Louisville Cardinals 77-16 as whopping 38-point favorites. Lawrence has a 65% completion rate with 18 touchdown passes and just three interceptions.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame did what they had to do in a workmanlike 31-21 win at the Northwestern Wildcats as 10-point chalks. The Fighting Irish have good but not dominant metrics of 33rd in the nation for total offense and 25th for total defense. Quarterback Ian Book continues to impress with a 170-passer rating with 15 touchdown passes and just four interceptions. Book has shown strong game sense and clutch ability.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have failed to get the money in their last five games and again had their weaknesses exposed last week in a 36-31 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers as 17-point home overlays. Ohio State ranks 70th in the nation for overall defense which is simply not going to cut it in a quest for the national championship. Quarterback Dwayne Haskins has a 170-quarterback rating with a staggering 32 touchdown passes and just six interceptions.

Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have posted back to back wins and covers over the Florida Gators and Kentucky Wildcats since their hiccup loss at LSU on October 13. Defense is the bedrock of the Bulldogs as they rank 10th nationally for points allowed. UGA boasts a balanced offense led by quarterback Jake Fromm’s 17 touchdown passes with just four interceptions. Running backs Elijah Holyfield and D’Andre Swift both have over 600 rushing yards and are over six yards per carry.

Michigan Wolverines

The Maize and Blue continue to be a team to watch. Last week they extracted revenge in a 42-7 home payout over the Penn State Nittany Lions for their fourth consecutive cover. Michigan boasts the nation’s top ranked overall defense and has shown marked improvement on offense to rank 27th in the country for scoring.

Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma got out of Texas Tech alive with an impressive 51-46 win over the Red Raiders. Quarterback Kyler Murray continues to be a top tier Heisman Trophy candidate with a 216-quarterback rating to go with 31 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. Murray is averaging 12.34 yards per pass. New defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeil continues to make strides with his unit.
