CFP National Championship Game Prop Bets and Picks

Much like the NFL’s Super Bowl, the prop bet menu for the CFP National Championship Game has exploded. With money to be made sports betting with bitcoin there are wagering options everywhere. The semifinals were classics and now the hope is that the title game between unbeatens the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies is just as thrilling. It should at least be closer than last year’s game when Georgia mauled TCU 65-7. In fact, none of the last five title games have been closer than 15 points with three of them decided by at least four converted touchdowns.

Offense and scoring have been a general theme in the championship game with the winning team scoring more than 30 points in eight of the nine previous tilts. That includes six games where the champ topped the 40-point mark. And both teams have gifted quarterbacks leading solid offensive units. Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. torched Texas with 430 passing yards and had 319 against Oregon in the Pac-12 championship. His passing yardage total was set at 296.5. Prop bets are a great way to stay involved in the game even if things get out of hand, like they seem to do quite often. Don’t worry though BookMaker has you covered with an extended menu of props for the final game of the college football season.

The College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Washington Huskies and Michigan Wolverines will air live on ESPN on Monday, January 8, 2024 from NRG Stadium in Houston, TX at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Player props are all about numbers so it’s only fitting that skill position players on offense get most of the attention. Not only are they the ones making plays they also have quantitative stats that apply to them. There is no pancake block stat for offensive linemen so don’t look for it on the prop bet board. But anything related to passing, receiving, rushing and scoring is available. The quarterbacks handle the football on nearly every play making them popular dudes for props. And two of the finest in college football go at it on Monday night. Michael Penix Jr. and J.J. McCarthy have combined to throw for nearly 7,500 yards with 57 touchdowns. All those yards mean receivers have big numbers, none more than Washington’s Rome Odunze, who has 87 receptions, 1,553 yards and 13 TDs. Let’s take a look at some player props to see where we can make some money.

Michael Penix Jr. Total Passing Yards

Over 296.5 ( -113 )

Under 296.5 ( -113 )

Washington throws the football and nobody in the country does it better than Penix. Sure he had some down games but he eclipsed the total set for this game 10 times, including in some of the biggest games of the season. He probably hasn’t played against a defense as stingy as Michigan’s, but Penix had a monster game against a decent Texas squad with 430 yards. And he has an abundance of weapons in 1,000-yard receivers Odunze and Ja’Lynn Polk. Regardless of the score the Huskies will do what they do on offense and that’s throw the football. The only way Penix doesn’t go over his total is if he has to exit the game.

Prediction: OVER 296.5 Passing Yards

Blake Corum Total Rushing Yards

Over 107.5 ( -113 )

Under 107.5 ( -113 )

Michigan has a more diverse offense that includes a run game that averages nearly 160 yards. Blake Corum is the ringleader averaging 79.4 yards, so it was a bit surprising to see his prop total set at 107.5. Here’s the deal, though. The Wolverines will attempt to run the football a lot to keep Penix and the Huskies offense off the field. And behind a mammoth offensive line they could easily take the fight out of the UW front. If Corum hits his per carry average he’ll have to have at least 23 rush attempts, something he’s done just twice this season. He has a chance to go over his total, but more likely he doesn’t against a good Washington run defense. The Huskies are vulnerable against the pass opening the door for McCarthy, so take a good look at J.J. and passing props.

Prediction: UNDER 107.5 Rushing Yards
